Located on the Henry Hudson Bike Trail in downtown Keansburg, this is the nicest bar in town with 31 craft beers on tap(I don’t know how the other reviewer got the number 40?). Keeelen’s is the most well run bar in town. It’s clean, well lit with a single pool table, a bunch of tv’s and a mostly younger, friendly crowd. There is a limited number of bar seats and only one table, so if you get here late you will be standing. One of the few bars to still honor the buy-back tradition(provided you tip) They don’t serve food but you can have pizza or chinese delivered right to your barstool. They have a banquet room upstairs with another bar that would make a great lounge but it goes mostly unused except for private parties. I am told the insurance for a bar with steps is prohibitive? Yes, they have fights from time to time like any bar but they have sound ejection policy with standardized penalties. Apparently, pulling a knife will get you a two week ban, as long as you don’t actually cut anybody. That seems reasonable? Look for the giant Bear. Edit: I was told by the owner that pulling a knife gets you a lifetime ban whether you cut someone or not. That’s a sound policy. They lose a star for price gouging during Hurricane Sandy. They were the only game in town but I know several people that walked out of there because of the«emergency pricing».

What a find! A liquor store with a really nice bar attached. What’s even better is this is right on the Henry Hudson Bike Path. We rode our bikes over after peddling a few miles and were amazed by the amount of taps. They had to have 40 beers on draft. Beers were cheap about $ 4. We had a cider then continued biking into Keansburg. We didn’t eat but are going to keep this on the radar for a return trip sometime.
