Boogaarts Food Store

Good selection of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, as well as other food products. This on south side of town, so we rarely grocery shop here. But this is a very good local grocery.

As small town grocery stores go, this one is pretty typical of what is on the average to higher end of average. They had a somewhat surprising selection of both beer and wine, though overall, it didn’t really rise too far above ok. The layout was quite nice, though. The parking lot was sort of faded and rough and the store inside was, to be charitable, worn, but it was mostly clean. The selection overall, again, was on par for smaller town stores, but was nothing special and frankly wouldn’t really compare to even some of the lower tier stores in a major market city. Prices seemed mostly reasonable. The checkout counter was odd and kind of a pain, but while it was nothing great, it wasn’t bad, either.
