Awesome barbecue!!! If you appreciate the art of smoked meat, then this is a must have. Very friendly staff and great customer service. You can’t go wrong with Kids eat free on Sundays! I had the jalapeño cheddar sausage and marinated chicken, large portions. Overall, very satisfying and will be back!

On vacation we found this place via Unilocal.Food was great, staff very welcoming and genuinely excited to have us there. It’s worth the trip into town, away from traditional interstate food places.

We have been here only one try for lunch soon after they opened. Was not a good experience or food preps. Probably has improved but we just prefer other good choices.

Needs better management. I’ve been there a few times before and been impressed with the older gentleman who was very friendly, made sure we enjoyed our meal, and thanked us for coming in. Today, I ordered a «baker»(baked potato with toppings) and was asked if I wanted that on the mashed potato casserole because they were out of baked potatoes. So I got the daily special with onion tanglers as a side. Those are made as needed, which I can appreciate except that I was given a number to take to the table where I waited, and waited, and watched the high school boys who were in line behind me get their fries, and waited some more. When I tried to flag down an employee, she told me she was not the runner. A tall guy in a cowboy hat later brought the tanglers to the table and was rather surly about it. I did get a card for a free sandwich with purchase of a drink, but the attitudes left me with a bit of a stomach ache. I will get my BBQ at locally-owned Luke & Jake’s from now on.

Had never been to a Dickie’s before today, but I will certainly look for another Dickie’s on this road trip. the brisket, sliced and pulled in front of you, and the pulled pork were excellent I had the sweet bbque sauce on my meat and my husband chose the spicy sauce… both were excellent, as was the slaw and baked Mac and cheese. the rolls were very tasty. A nice touch, the free ice cream cone(self-serve). I did not know this was an(order at the counter, pick up your meal and choose your seat) restaurant. I can handle counter service if the food is good.

I’ve seen the yellow cups floating around before, but really didn’t know what Dickey’s was until I went to a lunch meeting where we had it catered in. There were three kinds of potatoes, rolls, ribs, brisket and pulled pork — not to mention apple cobbler out the wazoo. This was several weeks ago now, but lord help me what I remember most is the rolls… of which I ate two and enjoyed every carb. Still, not such a good sign when we’re talking about a BBQ restaurant. Thus, three stars and A-OK for Dickey’s. Maybe I’d feel differently if I’d dined in and been able to tear into a pulled pork sandie all of my own? Or if they’d buttered me up with free ice cream cones… alas we may never know.

It’s a franchise so it’s not special to just Kearney, but not the less, VERY good. I would go as far as saying that it’s the best BBQ place in town and in the area. Hands down. The only thing I didn’t like it the drinks only came in one large sized souvenir cup and it was not included in the meal but who am I to complain. They’ve only been open a week, but I believe they will be very successful. Everything here is good, service, food, I mean everything. Even better is the complimentary ice cream cones! All in all if you want some good BBQ, this is the place to go. (Not sure why but Unilocal lists 4 locations around Kearney for Dickey’s. This location is the only one around.)
