Lily House Chinese Restaurant

Ordered the general tso chicken and I did like that it was big pieces of chicken but it did not have much flavor surprisingly. The fried rice seemed greasy and also my husband did not enjoy the scezchuan chicken much either. I may give them another try but was disappointed based on previews reviews.

My fiancé and I eat Lily House at least twice a week. Its def a cleaner version of Chinese food if that makes sense. For instance with the sesame chicken or sweet and sour chicken its very white and meaty when sometimes at other Chinese restaurants its all fried breading. Service is very friendly and good price. Love Lily House!

Best Chinese food in Kearny, stomach doesn’t hurt afterwards and it tastes great. No complaints, will order here whenever I’m craving Chinese food.

For the very first time Chinese food I had, I liked it a lot! The «beef chow fun» was tasty enough to force me to eat there again.
It is so cheap for such a good food though! Try it, won’t regret it.

We ordered Singapore Mei Fun, which was spicy IMO, and General Tso Chicken — yummy — during a lunch.
They are very good with timing, we were told to wait 30 minutes and food was delivered right in time.
They charge $ 1 for delivery though.

Best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. The food taste fresh and like actual food not mystery meat. I ordered shrimp with broccoli steamed with garlic sauce, it was great! The shrimp was awesome unlike other places! Will be my go to Chinese store from now on!

Fave Chinese food in Kearny!!! Food doesn’t make me feel disgusting after I eat it. I usually get the chicken lo mein and the egg rolls! Both delicious!!! HIghly recommended.
Also the delivery is very quick!

Highly recommend lily house by far one of the best Chinese food I’ve ever eaten in the surrounding area. Definitely a go to spot to have your taste buds put right to sleep. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with shrimp fried rice and surprisingly the food was not greasy… We all know how Chinese food could be greasy. Found our go to Chinese food spot and it isn’t in China !

Ordered here for the first time because a friend told me it was a really good spot for Chinese. I ordered 2 lunch specials for me and my coworker and the lady said 30 minutes and the delivery came exactly on time.
The food was really good, i would definitely order again. It may be my new Chinese food spot! I ordered beef with broccoli and fried rice, really good.

Ordered for the first time two days ago, and you know what — it wasn’t as great as I was expecting because I thought that it was going to be amazing thanks to other Unilocal reviewers but after ordering Sesame Chicken and Boneless Spare Ribs —
I thought that the Boneless Spare ribs were *AMAZING* however…
–Sesame chicken was just ³⁄₆ only OK it also arrived not very hot and both were Large container orders, the ribs were still however piping hot which was fantastic.
–Also ordered was the Moo Goo Gai Pan — just OK as well ³⁄₆ — too garlicky and leaving an aftertaste way after the fact. The General Tso’s chicken was only OK as well — not enough spice for my taste! Chicken with Broccoli ³⁄₆ not the best either.
–Vegetable Dumplings arrived semi-​warm and were ³⁄₅ (steamed).
***Overall I would definitely re order the boneless spare ribs again**** However, everything else gave several parties awful digestion afterwards… Maybe the sauces are too thick and heavy for certain people who aren’t used to Chinese food.
Also they say it’s Free Delivery however, on the receipt I found a $ 1 delivery charge and we tipped for delivery so those are extra costs on top of it all. Don’t say free delivery if there is a surcharge.

I just ordered for the first time a few days ago. The girl on the phone had trouble understanding English, but that is to be expected at Chinese restaurants. I ordered for delivery and it was VERY quick. Food arrived hot :) The food was not greasy like some other places, I read other reviews that their food was «healthy» because they don’t cook with a lot of oil. The taste on the other hand… Ehhh. Very very bland taste. Almost no taste. Felt like an ingredient was missing. I ordered the mixed vegetables – note:they LOVE to use mushrooms; almost more than broccoli! The mixed vegetables had no carrots or other variety of veggies. Overall, clean decent food but lacks taste. I would order again unless I find a tastier chinese place

Love their food. Not full of oil and very tasty. I ordered a house special lo mein combination and eat everything, with no left over oils like other Chinese food places.

Best chinese food in the area! Great shrimp fried rice, sesame seed chicken and shrimp roles. Quick delivery too

I’m not a big of Chinese food but this is the best I tasted around the area hands down. Not stingy with the shrimp. And I love the wonton soup

BEST CHINESE IN THE ENTIRE AREA. They have the cleanest chinese kitchen i’ve seen, the delivery is super fast, and the food is great.

Lo mein is great… not really my thing… but it tastes awesome
They give great portions and the staff is super friendly as well as speak and understand english perfectly. Never had any issues with this place. I will be very sad to say bye to this place if i ever have to move out of kearny.

Okay so I am not really big on ordering Chinese because of the way it leaves me feeling afterwards but I do enjoy ordering from here.
This is hands down the best Chinese place in KEARNY but I have had better.
I usually order chicken and broccoli which is very good and they don’t go broccoli crazy — it’s a good amount of meat as well.
I have had their sweet and sour chicken which is really good but it’s more like little chicken dumplings and the sweet and sour is on the side? I actually prefer this but most places don’t make it this way.
I’ve also had their general tsos which is awesome. It’s not soggy and has a bit of a crunch still and is so flavorful.
Out of the few dishes I’ve had I was very pleased and really had no complaints however, the reason this was given four stars was because their egg rolls.
The egg rolls are SO SO greasy, it’s almost hard to enjoy. I mean it’s so greasy that it leaves behind a little grease in the egg roll bag and that while your eating them it might start to drip on your chin haha but on the bright side they still taste really good.

I’ve ordered delivery from Lily House a few times now and the food has always been good. They are very quick with delivery.
The General Tsao chicken is just the right amount of spicy and an order easily feeds two, the portions are huge! The pork rolls and shrimp rolls were delicious, not soggy and oily like some other places I have ordered from. I wasn’t a fan of the fried dumplings, but my husband loved them! The fried chicken wings are also great.

This happens to be the best Chinese food in town, but that doesn’t make it the best Chinese food ever. For one, the meat that comes with the chicken and broccoli is incredibly fatty. The lo-​mein is REALLY tasty but just a little too greasy. Also, for some odd reason their rice gave me stomach inflammation and nausea and I am not allergic to rice– so that was kind of weird. A+ on the Wonton soup & options for vegetarians, they really have a good selection on their menu, which coincidentally makes an excellent paper airplane. Besides the rice, the only negative thing I have to say is, with delivery, someone the price always ends up being a lot more than what I would pay for Chinese food.
Overall, it’s a Chinese food place. It’s okay, edible, but nothing special. I only order once in a while and stick to take out if you don’t feel like dishing out $ 27 plus tip to feed two people.
