Lithuanian Catholic Community Center

What a great neighborhood bar and restaurant. Very clean. Big oval bar with about 30 cushioned stools. The dining room is separate and is very nice and intimate. The menu is small but varied and ranges from bar food to steaks and fresh seafood. The bar has 6 flat screen tv’s. There is a juke box and as of now at 8pm on a Friday night the well dressed older crowd is watching prime time tv shows rather than playing music. People are drinking cocktails and beer and this place has a nice friendly neighborhood atmosphere. It is decorated for Halloween very nicely and I must say that I feel very much at home here. I haven’t been here in years but plan to come back often. I must say that I am of Lithuanian decent so this review may be a bit biased but I travel all over North America for a living and go to a lot of places like this and this place really warrants a good review. I avoid places with a young crowd and loud music. If you like a friendly place to have a few pints and a nice dinner and are in Kearny, nj. this is the place to be.
REVIEW UPDATE NEXT DAY
at 9:30 a DJ appeared for karaōke. All of a sudden this place changed from a nice neighborhood bar and grill into a happening night spot. Sound on the tv’s went down and the music went up. Good tunes and the mixed crowd of twenty something’s blended well with the 30 to 50’s crowd. I had a great time and was surprised how this place transformed into a hip gathering place.

The LCCC is a Great place. Very helpful and friendly staff. Carol and her husband were a huge help to us and treated us like «Royalty» during our Daughter’s Sweet Sixteen party. Highly recommended!
