I found this place on Unilocal.I’m not around this area so I was taking a chance. The parking is not bad. There’s street parking and some as a public parking lot across the street. At first glance the restaurant doesn’t look like much. What they lack in with the cheesy appearance, they make up with the taste of their food. They service was attentive and they spoke both English and Spanish. The drinks weren’t too pricey(about average for North Jersey). Their traditional Peruvian drink was delicious. As for the food I had no complaints. The lomo saltado was one of the best I’ve ever had. The oysters were served warm which I think they would have been better served cold but it was also just as delicious. I had the tres leche was fresh and really good. Beware of the nights you come to visit because they do have entertainment. If you don’t want a loud night, I wouldn’t go on a weekend night.

Never have I been disappointed! Love that they have live music on the weekends, dim lighting, fresh yummy fish… I could go on and on! Good portions, parking lot across the street, clean bathrooms and restaurant. My favorite is coming for breakfast but then again their lunch and dinner is super amazing as well! My favorite dish? Their Lomo!

I love it! I came back to New Jersey after 1 year and food and service is still good as before. I would recommend Lomo Saltado and Tacu Tacu. This is a small place but a good chef in charge.

Our beers were ice cold and served in a chilled glass which I like. I had the grilled octopus appetizer with asparagus and potatoes, and I was very pleased with it. She had Tamalito a la Norteña, which was ok, but nothing too special. The appetizers came a little bit late, at the same time of the entrées. The service in general was pretty good. I had the Parihuela, which is a fish stew and the flavor was authentic and the seafood was fresh. I liked it. She had Picante de Mariscos which was also a solid dish. So the food was pretty good and authentic, but it was very loud in there and they had a DJ/announcer. We were seated close to a speaker as well, so it was hard to hear each other talk. It was more like eating in a disco then in a restaurant. So we kind of wanted to get out of there quickly. I would eat at this restaurant again, but I’ll definitely go back on the night other than karaōke night, which is Friday night.

Before going to the restaurant we called to see if we needed a reservation and were informed that the restaurant didn’t take reservations. Upon our arrival we were told that there was a 30 minute wait for a table but it was nearer a 45 – 50 minute wait. The restaurant had live music going on which was extremely loud it would have been a pleasant experience if only they lowered the volume of the amps. When we asked how much longer the band would be playing for we were told they would be finished by 7 pm and then told they would be playing for an additional 10 minutes which turned into an hour. We then had difficulty hearing the server when she was taking our order due to the extreme loudness of the music. The food was okay when it arrived but our pisco sours tasted like pure sugar. It certainly did’t come close to the pisco sours which we had enjoyed in Peru. Then when the bill arrived we had two extra items added to the menu which we didn’t order but which the restaurant did deduct from our bill.

Busy but worth the wait. 5 stars Best ceviche… I want to say in Nj. No joke. Great menu, the owner has done a great job here keeping it consistently good. They really care about quality. Don’t change your ceviche portion size please, that’s why we all keep coming back!

This place is nice The server is very nice New experience to Peruvian food. The seafood risotto kind of dish is pretty good. I don’t like the smell of old place, i think they should improve that… otherwise it will be hard to make people to stay. Then they need more then one waitress… she has to do all the tables, serving, cleaning setting and organizing… so we had a long dinner that night…

My friend loves this place and was super excited for papa a la huancaina. She loves the huancaina sauce and have been craving it. So we decided to go for dinner. I wanted to see what she was going so crazy over. The appetizer was good but wasn’t what I thought it would taste like. I ordered a seafood paella. It wasn’t what I expected, the rice was separate from the seafood. I had to mix my rice into the sauce and seafood(it tasted better the next day). The place is small but very intimate and would be a great date place. I wish I understood the menu a bit more before I ordered. I don’t know if I would go there again not only because of the food but parking was a bit difficult to find.

Great food, good service and cozy atmosphere. Dinner for two will run you around $ 65 for app, two entrees and two sodas. Host is very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!

First time in this restaurant. Food was good. Not the BEST Peruvian I have had, but it was ok. We had the tallarín verde and the lomo saltado. Descent pisco sour. Why a 3 then? Because service was eh… Much to be desired for. They were Not rude, but considering the place was not full it should not take 20 minutes to bring us water in the very least. When we asked a different waiter(who was not busy) for water, he basically said we had to wait for our waitress. This is just an example of our experience. Our food was SUPER tardy and they served apps with the main dishes. I was left disappointed. Really did want to like this place. I wouldn’t go back, would rather go to Passaic for Peruvian. Maybe we didn’t have a good waitress. If you do decide to go, hope you experience better service than us.

Great place to come on a Friday Night! The Karaōke is so much fun. Heads up. It is a Peruvian restaurant which does Karaōke Every Friday night. So most of the singing is done in Spanish. It was great I went with my cousins and fiancé last Friday. We had the time ouf our lives drinking, dancing, and singing the night away! The food was very fresh and tasty. The only problem was that the air condition was blasting and I was sitting next to the vent. When asked to turn down they did turn it down. The drinks were alright. I highly recommend the anticuchos! They were delicious. This place is good for older and mature crowds. Not for teens.

This place is not the same anymore. I ordered a causa de pollo and the causa was tasteless… Couldn’t feel the aji amarillo in the potato and the chicken was meh, was seasoned with mayo only… No celery or veggies, only a piece of avocado that was getting ripe, getting that black look around it. I decided to order la sopa a la minuta and it wasn’t good either. Must have been a bad day for me ! My soup was too spicy for my taste … Way too much aji panca or red seasoning. Definitely I wouldn’t order it again … Maybe the food is better in the weekends? maybe they are not good making platos criollos … Just seafood. The chicha morada was not a disappointment!

Have been here to eat a few times and have ordered take out as well since it’s not far from my parents. I typically order the lombo montado. It’s a steak with egg and French fries with a brown sauce. It’s pretty good and quick especially if you’re in a hurry.

Place is great. Always packed, no reservation, but only waited 5 minutes for a table. Started off with the crab causa and misto ceviche, both were great. My toddler son had the fish fillet with rice, ate everything! Service was friendly, and fast. Shared the«el picante» mixed seafood entrée. so yummy. Left without a doggie bag and a smile. The only downside is parking, as the public lot across the street is small.

My favorite dish here is Lomo montado which is a beef steak, French fries, onions, tomatoes and soy sauce stir-fry and fried eggs on top, most of the time is pretty amazing but unfortunately this is not consistent, sometimes this same dish can be disappointing, so is this is a hit or miss I’ve been coming to this restaurant since they opened(few years ago) and the food used to be great, now I see they’re cutting on the ingredients, like the tomatoes and lime juice in the salsa criolla(now they serve just raw onions) or the jalea which is 90% calamari when is suppose to be a mixture of assorted seafood

Very good food, but HORRIBLESERVICE Never have been so dissaponted of a restaurant the way I was about OH! CALAMARES. Waited over 35 min for breakfast service; in the meantime, people who showed up after we did, were already eating. We asked for an extra bread, after 13 min, we asked again and her replied to us was ‘sorry, but we ran out of bread’. Very dissapointed didn’t want to leave a tip, but we did after all; because the food was very good. It was my first time coming to this restaurant suggested by a closed friend to the owner. NEVERAGAIN!
