Pros and cons here
I ordered a bacon cheese burger deluxe with fried eggs
With a side of French fries
My wife ordered bacon eggs over easy with home fries
Pros — the fries were so crispy and fresh
The home fries were also great
The bacon is perfectly fried not oily

Cons — unfortunately the burger meat is a frozen meat patty — and extremely bland no salt or pepper

The waitress we had was rude and NOT attentive ! When ordering, We asked for a minute to decide what we wanted but she stood over us for 3 mins starring at us with an attitude, so I asked again can we have another min, so she finally left — however she ignored us when we were ready .
I had to ask to get more coffee and milk, and my wife went to the fridge to get herself an Ice tea —
so basically the waitress never returned to check on us.
We tried to be extra polite so she can get the hint however not once she said thank you, or your welcome.
My opinion she is only friendly to The locals

Found this place on Unilocal,came here twice in one week, tomato soup is excellent, both times had a chicken gyro, super delicious. The French fries I had were drizzled with lemon juice and oregano, so good. Inexpensive. All staff is friendly, nice little spot, definitely stop here when I am I. The area.

For breakfast platters this is THE PLACE to go! You walk in and you are greeted right away. I hate that they close so early. Being a teacher, I don’t get back into kearny until at least 3:30 and I don’t want to be that person who walks in at closing time and orders food. Whenever I get a chance on the weekends, I like to go here for breakfast. Their omelets are huge and they fill the other half of the plate with the best home fries you will every taste. Everything is always fresh. Their lunch items are on point too. If you are in the area you HAVE to try the Greeks!!!

I went here for the first time with a group of friends and we all ordered something different, the food was very appetizing and filled us up very quickly.
Atmosphere was very nice and a bit quiet when we came in (which I don’t mind at all)

This family owned and operated small Greek diner has some of the best diner food I’ve had in New Jersey. The breakfasts and especially the home fries may be the best in NJ. The service is fast and furious. It’s worth a long drive to experience the Greeks.
If you’re a fan of home cooked food, and feeling the love of a family run business, don’t hesitate, stop your search, this is the Holy Grail of coffee, eggs, home fries, pancakes, and all grill fare. The soups are home made too.
Taylor ham egg and cheese is the state sandwich of NJ, just ask X Ray Burns of WFMU and Weird N.J., whose body is probably 35% Taylor ham. And if you haven’t had one, this is the place to get one, but it will ruin you for life; so you’d better just keep returning to the Greeks!

Have been meaning to come here since I saw it in TV and wish I had come in sooner.
Even though they never met me before I felt like family. I sat at the counter and talked to the owner and watched him work. It got busy but he kept calm and I could feel the love in cooking. I had a cheesesteak and fries and both were great.
If you are looking for a friendly place to get a quick but tasty lunch then head on over and sit at the counter.

Best Greek omelette ever! Everyone was incredibly friendly. Service was excellent. Wish I didn’t live so far away :)

Worse service ever if you don’t know John you won’t get served people walked in 20 min after we did got served they ate left and we just got our food never ever will I go there again

Nothing special about this place. NJ has most diners in the world. It’s just standard diner food. Greasy spoon menu. You know what your getting and it’s good filling food.

Great food, super-​friendly service! The place was busy but our server did not rush us at all as my friend and I felt very welcomed to linger over our delicious lunch followed by a truly outstanding slice of cheesecake and coffee. Today was my first visit to The Greeks, but I have a feeling I will soon be a happy regular!

Hard to find better breakfast in New Jersey. Friendly staff great service. You can’t go wrong

I have been here three times for breakfast a cheese omelette, french toast and sausage&eggs and found everything excellent! Home fries are so much better than most, seasoned perfect, not to greasy, not dry. Five stars because I don’t know any place for a better breakfast!

Went for breakfast. Ordered a western omelette. It was super salty. Strange since I didn’t ask for salt in my breakfast.
Very dingy and dated inside. Apparently, they just had a make over. Hopefully the inside looks better.

Love love love this place. They recently renovated and it looks great! I’m glad to know that’s the only thing that changed! The food is amazing as always and the ambience pure north jersey (as it should be!) I love the blueberry pancakes and the home fries as well but really anything here is great! The French toast is amazing too! I just love the Greeks!

Came here for the first time for breakfast. Great food, love the home fries but next time I will add mushrooms to it! Yum Yum. Portions are big, low prices, tasty food, casual atmosphere, friendly staff. I will be coming back! !

Best English Breakfast I have ever tasted !! French toast must try! We ordered for Mediterranean omelette and cheese omelette. Every omelette comes with fries. Loved the food. Friendly staff. Helped us in selecting the best of all.

The best place in the area to get breakfast or lunch. The Taylor ham egg and cheese is to die for. The sandwich is stuffed they aren’t cheap with the meat or egg. Also the omelets and fries with cheese and gray are realllyy good. I am deff going to be trying more food from here !

This is a hidden little gem !! It’s great for a home cooked meal and a nice family owned business, they are so welcoming and friendly. I had the home fries, Turkey sausage and sunny side up eggs, the home fries by far the best I’ve had !! Stop by sometime if your interested in having a good home cooked meal !!

Alright, the overall rating of this place is 4 ½ stars. Let me tell you about averages. If there is only a handful of reviews to to get your average from, a low score really hurts. Some goon gave this spot 3 stars after he raved about the grilled cheese being right on and the burger being good. He also went on to say the chili was definitely home made and fresh. So why the deduction of 2 stars you ass hat?
Another broad gave The Greek’s a 1 because it was closed on a sunday morning and didn’t have hours posted. Well, I got news for you toots, if the hours were posted you would have seen that they were STILL CLOSED!!! Also, she was a Unilocaler. The hours are posted on Unilocal.What a bitch.
So anyway, the eggs were cooked to perfection. The bacon was thick and awesome. If you’ve read any of my other Unilocal you noticed that I like thick meat. Mmmmm. The home fries are an issue for me but only because they are of another world. I find it hard to believe that these amazing bastards are from earth. And oh my god, when you get the eggs over easy and the yolk runs and mashes with the home fries it forms a taste explosion not seen since the first person mixed ketchup and barbecue sauce. This place is friggin’ fantastic. Their coffee is hella good too. Definitely better then the cup of mud I’m about to make here. Also, the glass of coke I ordered was perfectly iced and refreshing.
The décor of the place came into question in other reviews. Let me tell you about it. There are tables and chairs for you to sit at while you eat. I guess that dildo wanted to look at the Mona Lisa while he ate. Go to France ya weirdo. Another complaint was that they only take cash. Instead of being a dick about this point and deducting a star, I will put a nice note here for Unilocalers reading my review. Get some cash before you come. And besides, If you’re going to a small mom and pop type spot shouldn’t you expect that they’d only take cash. Some people just like to complain. There is a deli on the corner and 2 different banks 4 blocks away.
So anyway, awesome food, awesome coffee, awesomer people and a hella good way to start the day.
1 negative here and definitely not star deduction worthy like some other assholes would, you have to pay the meter. Blame the burg of Kearny for that. There are like 3 businesses on this stretch of block and the town still tries to hit you.
