Avoid this place if you are just starting out. The elder gentleman, who I understand to be the owner, straight up told me his prices are so low it’s not worth his time to help me find the right bike. Which he further demonstrated by talking up his business and its great service while offering me zero guidance and dismissive attitude. If you know exactly what you are looking for, there is a decent selection and you may be the type of customer he will take interest. Otherwise I would suggest advanced cyclist. It’s a smaller shop but the guys running it are knowledgeable, active participants in the sport, and more than willing to make sure you find the right thing.

A Unilocaler wrote earlier that this place was rude and condescending to her. We had exactly the same horrible experience last week. An older man — who we later discovered, unbelievably, is the owner — ignored us when we entered although we were the only people in the shop. After 10 minutes of wandering, we asked him a question(we’re beginners and were looking for information about getting a new bike). He gruffly told us what we needed without questioning us and said he had two bikes that would work. He walked us to the basement, pointed out the bikes and left before we could ask any questions. Annoyed, we left moments later. He ignored us then, too, although we were still the shop’s only customers. Shabby. Shameful. We went elsewhere,(Norm’s), got excellent service, and spent over $ 1,000 on our new bikes. FYI, Andy’s is closed in winter, so good luck on getting your bike serviced there if you have any need for such.

My boyfriend and I purchased two bicycles here last spring, a Specialized Hardrock and a GT Agressor. Bruce was very helpful and took the time to make sure of what each of us were looking for, what our price ranges were, and made sure that we test rode each one that struck our fancy. Not a huge selection(there’s actually a whole second floor) but just enough. The younger guy that works there also assisted with advice about nearby trails to check out. Both of them insisted that we utilize the free air available there whenever we needed it. It may be helpful to mention that Bruce is somewhat of an «ol’ Yankee» type, and will give you hell like a grandfather would. Take no mind, it’s just his humor. Both bikes we chose were on sale, and he assured us that they were simply previous models and still really nice bikes. The second day I had my bike, I sliced my tire on some glass. Went in to Andy’s and he fixed it up, free of charge. It’s been a year now, and those bikes have been through some rough trails. Still tough, good-looking bikes. Can’t wait to head to Andy’s again for some new toys and a nice chat.

Dropped my bike off today for a tune-up, the first in several years. Not sure if was Andy himself or someone else behind the counter, but he couldn’t have been more helpful. This place has an outstanding selection of bikes if you’re in the market for a new one, and also a great selection of accessories if that’s what you’re looking for. I’m glad I found this place. Parking is also very convenient, right in front of the store.
