Just moved to Keene and I was looking for the meat store. friends recommended me the Paul’s choice and guess what? meat was just unbelievable. it was too good and it was cut the way i wanted. will go there again

I stopped by for the first time last Friday to pick up some steaks for some friends that were coming over. I was surprised at the selection of meats and seafood in the shop. I asked to have some bone-​in rib-​eyes cut to about 1 ¾″ thick and they had me out the door a few minutes later with some monster steaks. They were very friendly and I am looking forward to going back there again.

What once was a good butcher shop has descended into the gutter. Over the last two months I’ve bought rib-​eyes and Porterhouse steaks on THREE occasions (figured I’d give them the benefit of a doubt) which were virtually inedible due to all the sinew and grisle. Who grades their beef? They call it ‘choice’ but it’s not even close to ‘select’. The cuts they’re asking top dollar for would be better suited running through a meat grinder and sold as hamburger.
Three strikes and you’re OUT Paul’s Choice… find a competant meat manager and stop trying to fool the public.

The meats at Paul’s are excellent. The chicken, available with or without the skin, is high quality, more so than you find in nearby supermarkets. and their bacon is very tasty and a good mix of fat and lean. The butcher can do specific cuts and knows his stuff. The staff is friendly, and they do a good business preparing yummy sandwiches for lunch. It’s also a small grocery which seems to draw a goodly neighborhood crowd, and their produce selection, while small, is good. We find ourselves stopping by regularly these days and recommend it if you’re in the area (it’s not too far from Dartmouth-​Hitchcock Cheshire Medical Center).

Great meats worth the trip friendly employees. However beware of seafood! Bought twice and both times had to throw away. I am sure they would take care of problem but too far to drive for one item. Will continue to buy meat here but not seafood!
