1 star is honestly a bit much for this place. Unorganized want to be irish bar. Food was nothing more than fair food. The atmosphere was a mix of drunk local kids and a group of girls from a bridal party that treated it like they were in their living room. Went to watch the ufc fight. And asked to be seated where we could see the tvs at the bar… they sat us so far away it was impossible to really see. Luckily they had another tv near us that we asked them to change. Of course had to do it twice and not sure if they were stealing the fight from ppv or they are not bright enough to fix that obviously bad connection to the sat box. Understaffed for a pretty big UFC night plus a bridal party that was clearly friends with someone eho worked in this disaster of a bar. Our waitress busted her ass all night and not once looked or acted stressed. At one point one of 2 «bouncers» walked over to her while she was taking an order next to us and hovered behind her. Once she was down with that she turned and he explained to her a person at another table wanted a glass of water… hey management maybe make better choices in who you hire. In the time he stood there staring at her back he could of gotten a water from the bar and been done with it. Mikelya did what she could with what she had so no blame to her for this experience. 10 to 15 min each time we asked for something. Bad food. Bad atmosphere and the one reason we went was to watch UFC and they couldn’t even have that work right. Lucky it’s in a college town. This place will never go out of business sadly

The only redeeming thing about our experience here was that our waitress Micaela did not break under the pressure of a busy evening. Food was awful. Steak and cheese was like frozen shaved meat on a greasy bun. Bouncers walking around doing absolutely nothing. People were clearly served beyond the point of intoxication meanwhile it took us over 20 minutes if we wanted to get a beer. Then another 10 for it to get to our table. Their staff needs a lesson in proper bar service. I have never had such a bad experience in an establishment, never mind a corporately owned establishment, in my life. And clearly all the negative facebook reviews tell the same story… Can’t wait to see if our credit card was charged more than it should be… Corporate should absolutely step in and take care of this place since the management and staff are not able to.

From the moment we entered the foyer and saw the Irish treasures to opening the main door to the restaurant, this charming Irish pub/restaurant did not disappoint. The warm, leather, cushy chairs, Benches and bar stools will keep you comfy as you peruse the beer list, wine and alcohol menu and dinner menu. We started with 2 Blue moons which our waiter Anthony brought speedily to us. When we mentioned that my husband needed a new napkin since he had to balance the table(it was actually the beautiful plank floor that was a tad«off»), Anthony brought coasters to better do the leveling job with a fresh napkin for hubby. Our appetizer of corned beef and cabbage with sweet chilli sauce was delicious. Dinner for me was butternut squash and cranberries in risotto. The risotto was good but not as creamy as I prefer my risotto to be. Hubby had baked haddock with mashed and green beans. I had a bite of all 3 of his items. Yummy! I liked the fashionable green walls(not bright Kelly green or anything Gerrish, but really a nice green). We ordered the apple crumble for dessert and it was not available so we ended up with the Irish car bomb cheesecake instead.(Bailey’s cheesecake, Guinness whipped cream and Jameson caramel sauce). It was very rich as promised. This restaurant is located at the Best Western hotel parking lot. We came over from a hotel down the road.

I have celiac disease. I was there when the kitchen was serving a limited menu. First I ordered the wings because the takeout menu said they were gluten free. I asked the waitresses and the regular menu said NOT gluten free! Then I ordered the nachos, which were listed as gluten free on both. I told the waitress to inform the kitchen that I was allergic to gluten. The chef(!), John, came out and told me that the nachos are cross contaminated with other fried foods(they make their own nachos?). He fired up the grill, which was off for the night, and made me a burger(sans bun) instead! Lesson learned: double check if something is listed as gluten free and always ask to alert the kitchen of an allergy. Also, some cooks are super nice, care, and are accommodating! Thank you chef John!

Outstanding Clam Chowder. Service was professional and accommodating. Enjoyed the wings. I had them with the original buffalo sauce. Probably should have tried something more adventurous with the sauce but they were still good. It was hard to watch the game and listen to the music and the very loud painting party mic.

Lots of beers on tap, above average food and great bands that fill the dance floor. Probably my favorite bar in the area, it’s not your standard hotel bar.

Some of the beat food in keene. Has live bands on weekends which is fun. Liked the old menu better, if I wanted only seafood choices I wouldnt go to a pub, but still a fun place

Took a day trip through Vermont and New Hampshire. The time was getting late(7:00PM) and my family decided to stop for dinner before the 3 ½ hour trip home. We happened by Waxy O’conners Pub and restaurant. It looked pretty busy as you would expect on a Saturday night at a good restaurant. We agreed the place looked promising and we’re excited by the smell of the food as we entered. The hostess greeted us and asked if we had a reservation, we did not. Without skipping a beat she immediately seated us. The décor was very heavy and warm with dark woods through out the establishment as you would expect from an Irish Pub. My family excused themselves to use the restrooms. While they were away the waiter approached the table and noticed four menu’s and realized the rest of my party was occupied elsewhere and offered to come back a few moments later, I agreed. At this point I expected the waiter to set up the table with napkins and silverware as a waiter should do. In fact, this never happened, he walked away and returned a minute later prior to all of my party returning and asked about our drink selection, my daughter and son made their choices and I made mine. My wife returned while our waiter was leaving with our drink order. He returned quickly to complete the drink order, then departed to fill it. While he was away we discussed our menu selections, my daughter was excited by the Waxy Pub house Steak as steak is her favorite, but wondered about the serving size of the steak. We were all set to place our order and waited for the Anthony the waiter to return. He returned with our drinks and we placed our order starting with my daughter who asked how many ounces the steak was? Anthony responded with«Good question, but I don’t know»! She placed the order anyway as she loves steak. My son ordered the Chipotle Crusted Salmon and I, Mashers and potatoes. My wife ordered an Eggplant Panini, but was unhappy to find out by 7pm Anthony had just served the last of the eggplant panini’s and she settled on a burger and fries. Anthony left with the order and still no place settings. He returned later with our appetizers and placed them the table and turned to leave, I at that point I asked for napkins hoping he would realize we hadn’t any place settings, he returned with a basket of napkins and moist towelettes and turned and left and still no silverware. I got up and asked the hostess for 4 place settings. She apologized and handed them to me. I returned to the table and we waited for an eternity for the entrée’s to arrive with no appearance’s from Anthony. Eventually the food arrived and everything was amazing! I asked if I could have some water but never received it. After finishing the meal we waited and waited for the bill, after finally receiving it, we waited and waited to pay. I decided to walk up to the bar to pay and while waiting there, Anthony came by and said«I’ll take that». About time I thought! So overall the food and atmosphere were great, the waiter was a very nice personable guy who is not very good at his job! Even with good food, bad service can ruin a restaurant! Be Careful
