The manager is obviously in way over their head and without a clue. How do you run out of tater tots? Boneheaded move! Had to go to Safeway and grilled my own tots. Way to lose business Sonic!

Dear god don’t come here at night 7 p. m it took 15 minutes for 4 small shakes and when i got mine(waffle berry brownie) all the brownie pieces were as hard as concrete and tasted bitter and burnt … the manager obviously has no interest in making his customers happy he just walks around like nothing’s going on and never said anything to us even when I asked for a refund.

This place couldn’t get an order right to save their life. I saw three other people come up to complain of wrong orders the whole time I was there. Fucked up making my order too, but refused to refund my money because ‘That’s against their policy.’ Even if it tastes like shit and they make it wrong, yes, against this store’s policy. Asked them to taste it, but nope, they wouldn’t. Asked to speak to the manager of the restaurant, but he was too pussy to come out and talk. What a disgrace to Sonic.

The food isn’t really worth the money. The only thing good they have is shakes, and maybe slushies. Although the slushies are mostly ice.

Hello everyone, Just here doing another long review and this time of Sonic Drive-In. As named /so called the America’s Drive-In. Oh yippee!!! I been coming here so many times over the years and even some other Sonic Drive-In’s across the area, I almost forgot this place even existed in my daily drives around town. It always seems like coming to Sonic never really feels like American type food and I’m not upset at the employees working at this Sonic or any others location. This is just one of the simple corporate things they do and the employees are just here for the ride. Hooray!!! :) No, I’m not saying the food is bad like most people say… Really it just needs lots of work and the price budget is totally off the deep end for most of the items. It always seems like every month they’re throwing some kind of special deal at us all. Oh yes, there maybe some hidden cost in there we don’t know until we order it but some how they keep dragging us in there with some flashy advertisements on TV or the Internet. First of all, How can Sonic charge us for 2 pieces of bread and a slice of cheese for $ 1.49 ??? Seems like it should have only been 1 dollar… Really!!! More than half the Everyday Deal items should be $ 1… Not $ 1.29 or $ 1.49 it just seems like a joke to as all, if some how we do get sucked into this value item stuff. Personally, I only go for the half price shakes after 8 P.M. but then some how I got sucked into another weird Sonic vortex of what is half price and/or hidden charges somewhere in the shakes items. Oh yes, I tried more than enough milk shakes and the ones on the menu with more than 2 or 3 ingredients start to add on Mystery charges. For example, if you buy a «Strawberry Banana» shake which is one of their menu items, without adding or taking anything away… Hopefully you would get it at half price which is state it the menu but wrong again. You get it at half price but with added on charge of 15 to 20 cents depending on your Sonic location which is not even half from the menu price. Really, If you don’t believe me try it for yourself!!! In all, I don’t mind paying a little extra but it just blows if they throw in a hidden charge without even showing or telling you about it. So really, Sonic only gets 4 stars because really it will never be a 5 star American Restaurant /Drive-In. I don’t think it will ever be until they get a more better pricing for their food menu items. ****

I ordered my food this evening at 6:19 pm. I ordered the foot long hot dog and tots promo for $ 3.99. They only brought me the hot dog. I asked about the tots and the girl said she would check. Thirty minutes later she comes back and tells me that I don’t get the tots because the girl who took my order didn’t hear me say I wanted the tots too? I was charged for both, but they refused to give me the tots. I am very upset that I was scammed and will not support this business again.

Twice in the last month I have ordered food and they got it(made) wrong. The credit swipe machines seem to always be out of service.

Been here several times and have never had much of an issue. Sonic food always seems a bit bland to me though, not my favorite fast food.

Happy hour drinks: Good. Food: So-so. Employees: Indifferent. Owner: Cheap. Seriously, not even a napkin in my bag when I order a burger or a hot dog? Diners must also remember to request drink holders. The owner himself helped me at the drive-thru window one day(didn’t find out he was the owner until later). I ordered 4 drinks and was obviously alone in my car. When he started to hand me a single drink I politely asked for a drink holder and got a very dirty look in return. Got the drink holder, but what should have been a perfectly delicious slushie left a pretty bad taste in my mouth.

So Sonic is huge in the south, but only recently come to the Pacific Northwest. That’s my understanding, at any rate. I know the ones in Salem have been around for a couple of years, but I never really got around to reviewing them. I have recently been stopping in frequently at the Sonic in Keizer, as it’s right down the road from me and very convenient. I have become a huge fan of their chocolate sodas. Specifically, a Route 44 Diet Coke with chocolate. I don’t know why, I’m usually not a chocolate guy, but this has just been pulling at my almost daily. Couple in the fact that Sonic Happy Hour is from 2 – 4, which means all drinks are half price. As I generally get off work at 2, I can stop by and get a huge soda that’ll last me all night for a little over a buck. I’m good with that. I have also had their Chicken Toaster Club and their cheeseburgers. The Chicken Toaster is about what you’d expect, with one slight unhappiness on my part. The first time I went to Sonic, a year or so ago, I recall the chicken in the sandwich being one whole breast. The last few times I’ve gone, it’s been three chicken strips. This causes the thing to fall apart, and requires me taking larger bites of chicken then I would actually want, because otherwise it falls over the place. Maybe this is a cost-cutting measure, or maybe other people preferred this method, I don’t know. But I’m not too fond of it. The cheeseburgers are good, but after places like Willamette Burger Company and Five Guys(for ‘fast food’ burgers), they’re about average. Better than McDonalds and Burger King, so that’s not a dig. I just wouldn’t take my burger loving mother here to show off. I’ve honestly never had their fries or tater tots. I always upgrade to the mozzarella sticks, but that’s a personal weakness for fried cheese. They’re enjoyable, but nothing to write home about. Specifically with this Sonic though is the service. The people they have hired to work at the Keizer location are just really nice people. Very friendly, have never screwed up my order once, and if there is a long line of cars waiting at the window, they will exit the building with my soda, walk down the line, and give it to me off the road, rather than making me wait. It’s gotten so I leave plenty of space between me and the car in front of me, just in case. I’ve rarely been disappointed. I’ve also seen them take attention to small details. For example, I glanced at my soda coming out the window one evening and saw the whole side streaked with chocolate and/or soda. I was about to open my maw and ask for more napkins or a small diaper or what-not, but when the young lady noticed, she immediately whisked off to the back, wiped down the whole thing, and then, on consideration of the apparent spill, topped off the soda without causing it to overflow. This review got longer than a fast food place really deserves, but the last bit I felt was important enough to bump this joint up to four stars.

I’ve been going to Sonic for a few years now… started in NorCal and now here in Salem area. I’ve never had terrible service or bad food when going to Sonic. I enjoy the food, atmosphere, and music. I like sitting in my car at the drive up stall. Nothing beats a Route 44 strawberry limeade in the middle of summer. And now to top it all off, they have all-beef hotdogs. Today I ordered a Coney Island Dog, a New York Dog, and a Chicago Dog. All were great. Hot dog had a nice snap to it. All served hot on a cold and rainy day. The Chicago Dog was made pretty much the traditional way, which is a big thing to me. The chili on the Coney was delish also. The NY Dog was my least favorite, but still good. It seems to me that the onions and kraut melded together just a bit too much and couldn’t tell the flavor of one over the other, especially with the addition of mustard. But good, nonetheless. All of their dogs are $ 2 each. That’s a great deal! Our server was very good also. I will definitely continue to go to Sonic over the years, unless they change drastically and fall out of favor with me. Which I doubt will happen. Keep making changes such as adding the dogs, and I’ll be a happy man!
