We had lunch here on a Sunday. The food was good; a bit Americanized but thoughtfully prepared, and the service and atmosphere were excellent. Margaritas were good too!

Not authentic at all. Very americanized. Service was fast because there were only 2 other tables. Waitress was nice and quick to refill drinks. We have just figured out if it says authentic on the sign it probably isnt.

We went here based on the reviews. It was ok but not as good as the reviews. Chips salsa and bean dip are good.

We came here based off the reviews and it was actually pretty good. We use to live in California and have found it hard to find good Mexican food in the state of Washington but this place is up at the top of the list of place we would return to. Even my picky kids are everything in their plate! That is saying something. Cheers and enjoy!

I just returned from San Antonio, so I realize that it’s unfair to compare the dinner at Plaza Jalisco tonight with the lunch that I had yesterday at La Margarita in San Antonio. By the way, the meals were about the same price. My meal in San Antonio included guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream, none of which was included at Plaza Jalisco. The meal at Plaza Jalisco included a very large helping of Spanish rice and runny refried beans. The meal at La Margarita included frijoles charros, grilled onions, and a modest portion of Spanish rice. I was attracted to Plaza Jalisco because of the comments about the mole sauce. If you’ve had decent mole sauce or prepared it at home, I think you’ll be disappointed.

Totally agree with the other reviews… best Mexican food in the NW, amazing chicken mole, great spicey green sauce, and wonderful free dessert. Everything is great.

Come here often and love their authentic Mexican food. The chips and salsa to start, order the chimichanga, and they always have a fried tortilla with a scoop of ice cream topped with whipped cream and chocolate syrup for a little dessert! Yum! Great prices and great portions

Food was great. Service was friendly and the food was prepared quickly and brought out fast. Also the enchilada style burrito was very good. They also give you a unexpected free dessert after your meal. A nice touch. Highly recommend this restaurant.

What a meal! What a meal + leftovers, because the serving was bigger than my head! Nondescript joint in the foggy, charming slash in-the-middle-of-essentially-nowhere city of Kelso. Stopped on the way back to Portland from Seattle. Ended up being a great choice! I ordered the sopitas, which I’ve never had before and want again. Post-leftovers. The chips and salsa(but mostly the chips) were addictive and hot! Large menu, quick service, friendly waitresses. Décor is outdated but I wasn’t there for beautiful, just tasty. Also, free dessert! Don’t stop here for beautiful presentation but for the filling food. Large portions at a reasonable price. I think this is a reliable place, but I only tried the one item. Still, I recommend giving this place a try! It is also, coincidentally, nearby the I-5 S onramp.

Delicious! Stopped by tonight and got the«New Jalisco Special» and it was amazing. Large portions and very flavorful. I don’t come thru Kelso very often, but when I do, I’ll be stopping by Plaza Jalisco from now on!

This place is the best! My group comes here so often they recognize us now, and always brings the drinks to the table without asking. They have specials everyday and the quantity of food is overwhelming. You get hot free chips and two different dips to start, which I appreciate since I don’t like salsa. The other dip is beans and jalapenos. It is amazing. I have tried multiple things on the menu, and have only been unsatisfied one time(my fault because I did not know there was cilantro in the dish, and I hate the stuff). Plus you get FREE dessert. The owner here is a really nice guy, and the rest of the staff are very friendly. This is the spot the group always goes. I walk away with leftovers and am stuffed every time. They also make pretty decent drinks. Yum mango margaritas. I recommend the expresso burrito. I rarely stray from it now, its that good. This is by far my favorite mexican restaurant I have visited.

Just so vegetarians and vegans know, they have an option of whole beans that are lard-free, but their rice is cooked in chicken broth. So when they list the«vegetarian» options on the menu, they are NOT in fact vegetarian.

Stopped on our way home and stopped for lunch. It’s a Sunday and they had 4 specials, we had their Jalisco special for $ 2 off the 16.95 price. More than enough for the two of us. It was steak, mushrooms mixed with scallops and shrimp, rice, beans and guacamole. All served with white corn tortillas on the side. Nice surprise of a chocolate Sunday at the end.

La Tarasca it’s not. Serviceable Americanized Mexican food, the usual long«we do everything» menu, smothered in cheese. Considering the quantity of stewed jalapeño in the pre-meal offering of beans, the chicken carnitas was oddly bland.

Being from a Hispanic background and living in Southern CA most of my life, I know good Mexican food. Plaza Jalisco succeeds! I’ve been there many times and have never been disappointed. Their food, prices and service are great. Plaza Jalisco and La Hacienda Real are our two go-to places for Mexican food. They are equally superb.

Great place! Don’t be deceived or turned off by the exterior. The inside is cute and large. Very fast service. Food is surprisingly good! HUGE portions, I recommend sharing. Oh and free dessert!

I’m always happy when I leave here! My husband and I couldn’t get enough of their beans, spicy, and AWESOME! And the wait staff couldn’t be nicer! We come back again and again! Also, the free desert is a great touch! Overall the food is great, authentic, and the prices are fair(drinks too!) Definitely give this place a try!
