The services at the bar, dining, and gift shop was great. The prices of foods was fair and foods was great! I prefer this restaurant and will come here every time I’m at Kehma Boardwalk.

Waited 40 minutes to be seated at a table that was empty the entire time we were waiting. Food was a 7 out of 10. Waiter was nice.

I can honestly say I won’t be back. The one star is strictly for the drink which was some frozen strawberry drink that came with a free glass. The Mac and cheese with shrimp wasn’t bad but could have been better. The étouffée was the worst thing I’ve ever tasted in my life. It looked and smelled like wet dog food and tasted like old gooey gravy that was spicey. I’m sure if I actually had tasted wet dog food that it could be pretty comparable. It had the worst taste and I could only eat a fourth of a spoon full. They should definitely pull this off the menu. The shrimp poboy was average. The waitress was nice but barely came back after we got our food. We tried to pay inside to leave and they told us our waitress would be out to get it but we had already waited for a while and she never showed up. Ugh, disappointed all around.

Food was okay… Service not so much. Ordered a shrimp appetizer that came with garlic bread. It had a lot of seasoning and was very good. I ordered shrimp scampi for my meal which I wasn’t impressed with, very bland and not enough flavor. My girlfriend ordered a combo of fried shrimp and crab legs. I mainly ate off hers and the snow crab really had a good amount of crab meat in it. Now onto service… I can’t even tell you the girls name because she did not say once(young girl, long braid in back, braces). I don’t think she even smiled once, was not friendly at all and messed up my order. I just didn’t say anything because I was over it already. To me it doesn’t matter how many times you check on me if your rude to a table or have an attitude its ruined.

First time at Bubba Gumps and I wasn’t impressed. Shrimp Appetizer and fried shrimp were bland. My catfish was good. My husband and son said their ribs were good. We ordered cocktails they were ok, we tasted no alcohol. We arrived at 3:40pm on a Friday, I had viewed the Happy hour choices before arriving and it stated online Mon thru Friday, 3pm to 7pm Happy Hour but my waiter said no happy hour on the weekends. I couldn’t believe it. I still left her a nice tip, I figure I would enjoy the nice view and celebrate not returning to this location. Food simply was not worth the prices. Atmosphere was not the friendliness.

Five stars for our waitress, Izzi and the chef! Izzi turned a horrible visit into a pleasant one. Manager John clearly needs additional training on Customer Service and organizing his staff and shifts. Love this place and the atmosphere– saw another table walk out due to lack of service during our visit — I vote, make Izzi manager and let John be trained by her!

Bloody Mary took a bloody long time to make. Had the garlic bread because we were forced to buy it if we wanted to be served alcohol before noon. Took three bartenders and 20 minutes to make two bloody marys… took them even longer to swipe my card. I was waving it at them but they were too busy chit chatting among each other they did not take notice until a few minutes later.

I will start with our arrival. There is absolutely no sense of urgency or attentiveness at the front desk and a bit of confusion on exactly how the operation or line for wait works. With many open tables it took us awhile to get seated. Once seated it took awhile for the waitress to come over and to get our drinks. Moral of the story — don’t be in a hurry if you decide to come here. Onto the food — it was alright. We got boiled garlic shrimp. It did not have much flavor so we ordered the Cajun seasoning. Don’t bother — it tasted like chili powder. Nothing Cajun about this. Bubba must not be from around here! Our mixed drink was the only thing this place has going for it besides the view. Our waitress was really sweet. And once she knew we were in a bit of a hurry — the process sped up. Not sure if I’d come back. I’ll probably go to another restaurant. There’s plenty others to choose from right there.

Had a great night with the staff, which is the only reason they are getting three stars. The food wasn’t bad, but not spectacular. The service was great, and my server was very fun. The night ended with me going to the restroom to come back to to find my table cleared off. I left the table with a glass of beer that was half gone, my phone on the table, and my bill unpaid mind you. I come back after being gone for just a few minutes to a manager that wants to joke about how lucky I was that they took my phone, and asking me how my day was. Well, it was good up until that point… which I told her, and the server was fortunate that I knew it wasn’t her fault. Not like they were busy, over half the place was wide open.

Shrimp and grits were ok… Shrimp platter was good. The fish was battered well and tasted fresh, shrimp was awesome-very lightly battered and crispy, Mac balls were different and cheesy, hush puppies tasted like crab balls-if had to order them again I would not do it but they came with the platter. The wait staff became bothersome! Really trying to rush you on the cool once the crowd came, but wanted you to think they were just helping. Acted like nats

This was my first time there. The food was alright, but I ordered a mixed drink and it was horrible, should have stuck with a bud light. The girls at the bar(probably the reason my drink sucked), were NOGOOD. Kept getting annoyed with the«rush», and having to make drinks, etc. The manager John was trying to talk with the girls working behind the bar(about a situation with a customer not liking a drink) and she was so disrespectful and rude. Other than the fact that the Astros game was on, I was FAR from impressed.

Visiting Houston decided to have dinner at the Kemah boardwalk, family wanted Bubba Gump, ate there once in New Orleans, and enjoyed it. We put our name on the list around 5ish and it was an hour wait. Had a couple drinks at the bar. Ordered the Georgia peach tea, keep your receipt, you get a free glass from the host before you leave. Georgia peach tea is sweet with a little kick. Got seated outside before the sunset so the view was lovely. Our server was Mason. Funny and charming. I ordered the coconut shrimp which was to die for! Perfect coated the coconut and fried to a golden color! I didn’t like the sauce it came with, the coconut shrimp already had a good sweet taste, it was fine by itself. My boyfriend order the tilapia which was also very good, mash potatoes under the fish, I loved the spinach.

This wasn’t my first Bubba Gump experience, but this was my worst one. The food especially the shrimp entrée was good, but wow, it is even pricier than the Monterey, CA branch: Nearly $ 20 per entrée and $ 10 per appetizer! Plus, the waitress seemed to be dying to get us out of the door by asking insistently if we wanted a check within minutes right after we got our food. I love the movie, but this is really hardcore. Unless you are absolutely dying to have a Forrest Gump dining theme even if it would mean overpaying for food and dealing with meh service, go somewhere else.

Arrived before the game on SuperBowl Sunday. We were just spending the the day until the game, and decided to eat something bad for us! Few patrons – but fully staffed. The entire staff was friendly and cheerful – we didn’t even mind having to change tables when the hostess seated us in the wrong place! :-) Chris from the bar was our primary server. He was friendly and cheerful, a real delight to be around on a second date. Hush puppies and shrimp for appetizer and meal. Tasty, hot and fresh; not chewy or overcooked. Any time you need something, you flip your sign from«Run, Forrest, Run!» to «Stop, Forrest, Stop». The two times we used this, someone was there almost before the sign was fully flipped. Such amazing service! We will be back.

I know it’s a theme restaurant but I got to admit it’s not half bad and it’s on the Gulf. Great view. Drinks are good but a bit pricey. I had the shellfish boil which was a bit skimpy but good. It had mussels, clams, crab legs and a lobster claw. All in all, it was good and a good view of the Gulf

The best thing about Bubba Gump when we went was the AC. It was really hot and humid in Kemah the day we visited. After, being on the boardwalk for a while we had to take a break. We have visited the Bubba Gump in Galveston, but this was our first time to this location. Luckily, there was not a long wait when we walked in. It did take a while before we saw a waiter. He did not think we were in his section, but turns out we were. He apologized and from then on everything went pretty smoothly. Our drinks were refilled when low and food came out at a decent time. I had the shrimp po-boy and it was full of shrimp. They were cooked well and not overdone. The bread it was served on was also good. It held up well throughout. Prices are a little too much, but everywhere on the boardwalk is the same way. At least we had fun here, cooled off and left satisfied.

Love the whole«out by the bay» thing they got here. Food is always good a bit pricy but is worth the drive. Make sure to sit outside to enjoy the sea breeze and watch the boats come in out of the marina. Party boats are my fav… Is always full of crazy drunk people… Make sure you wave back at them

If you’ve been to a Bubba Gump before, this is pretty typical, if anything I thought the service here was good. Yes prices are a bit high but the whole Forest Gump theme is awesome to see especially if you’re a fan of the movie. Our server Jasmin was on top of things, my boyfriend and I were a bit indecisive about what to order and she gave us great recommendations and constantly checked up on us. The strawberry mango chiller was yummy and I still have the souvenir cup! Below is what we ordered: 3⁄5 = garlic bread appetizer 3⁄5 = fried chicken 4⁄5 = crawfish & shrimp etoufee Our server was social and made our Bubba Gump experience fun, she gave us some trivia and we got a lot of the answers right hehe. Overall, no complaints and wouldn’t mind coming back again.
