Subway

Well, I’m a big Subway fan. Almost everything about this location is great: the food, cleanliness, etc… I don’t go here because of the parking lot, it’s terrible. If you have a big car or truck you have to turn around to get out or go through what is basically a non-​functional drive through that only a Smart car can fit in. Seriously, it is a tiny parking lot with weird slopes and doesn’t work with my regular pickup. No go.

Overall, the restaurant was clean and my service was good. Two things stood out about this particular Subway:
1. The tomatoes were actually fresh, not gross green /​yellow in some unfit stage of ripeness.
2. The parking lot is aggressively sloped, very strange for coastal Texas.

Y’all know I love Subway. It has decently healthy choices (except for the sodium, but that’s every restaurant), and it’s a chain, so you get pretty much the same thing at every restaurant. Well, you’re supposed to anyway. Obviously you throw people in that equation and things can either be wonderful, or terrible, or anything in between.
This place wasn’t terrible, and it was closer to wonderful. The people were super friendly and helpful and the food was fresh and yummy. The place is small, but it was clean, and the bathrooms were clean, which is always a plus.
We were there on a Monday and the special that day was a 6″ ham and turkey breast with drink and chips for $ 5.50. I always get the tea and the baked Lays and can have a delicious, filling lunch for around 500 calories.
The parking lot is kinda strange though; it’s smallish and on a hill, and there’s only one way in and one way out. I had just gotten a new, much bigger car and was worried about parking it. I mean, I’m a good driver, and usually a pretty good parker, but big, new car + tiny, sloping parking lot = me wishing we had decided to go somewhere else for lunch. But, I did it, thank goodness for back up cameras… whew!
All in all, this is a great example of what a fast food place should be: clean, friendly, standard menu, and a great place to eat!
