Mustang Grill

So when I first came to this place, I was expecting BBQ for some reason. I mean, you have the word «mustang» in the name. That made me think ranches and «down home southern cookin’.»
Actually, even after I’ve eaten there and had time to digest everything, I’m STILL not sure how to classify this place.
Ok, let me try — it’s like a Chipotle that serves burgers and char-​broiled chicken?
Uh???
Let’s talk about the menu. Burgers, fries, grilled chicken sandwiches, chicken platters in three flavors (BBQ, lemon herb, black cherry habanero), salads, and … burritos?
Here’s what I LOVE about this place — a HUGE variety of toppings for the salads, rice bowls, burritos and more. Heck, you could probably even add them to your soups or chili. This is the Chipotle factor. There is a giant row of fresh ingredients that includes a variety salsas, cheeses, guacamole, and peppers. You can add these to pretty much anything for no additional cost.
The only problem? You NEED to add these to make any dish actually taste good. Somehow, the base dishes and meats are so horribly under-​seasoned that each bite of the naked, bland sandwich/​salad/​enchilada will make you sad. Like, a profound sadness. This isn’t good for people on a mental level. For people already teetering on the edge, this could very well push them over the edge.
So just to recap — LOVE the model of plentiful, FREE, fresh ingredients. DON’T love base, bland dishes that REQUIRE piling on those plentiful, free, fresh ingredients. A grilled chicken breast should have inherent flavor. Chicken is like a sponge for aromatics, seasoning, herbs, and rubs. Go to town with it. I can’t remember the last time I bit into chicken and it had literally no taste. Not since the Mustang Grill! Do something, please!!! :D

Great place to eat for a quick bite to eat. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are very good and are priced cheap. My kids love the make your own burrito.

One of the best little local spots, from the looks you don’t expect much. You get your food and you are instantly satisfied. Some of the best food you’ll find in berks. Give it an opportunity.

I wanted to like this place after seeing the billboard with their advertising. I went there today & ordered a chicken rice bowl. Almost every bite i had, i bit into sand or dirt. It seemed like their lettuce was not washed properly. I was so disappointed. Also the cilantro was dark green and a little slimy. Being 4 months pregnant, i could not continue to eat it. One star for the anticipation i felt. Waste of my money, i will not be returning. I’d rather pay double & go to Chipotle.

Big fat burritos for not much money. Lots of fresh toppings — can’t go wrong if you want something quick and easy.

we get chicken from here once a week… their grilled chicken is VERY, VERY good… especially the Black Cherry Habanero with double potatoes… cant beat the prices.
Agreed with the other reviewer better than Moe’s…plus you can’t beat the service you get from Dave!
Only thing that I wish they would address is the drinks… fountain soda’s would be better than limited cans/​bottle options.

Better than Moe’s and Chipotle in my opinion. The barbacoa is amazing and they pack the burritos like nobody’s business. Throw in the free chips with homemade salsa and ask yourself what’s not to like. The only thing keeping this from the 5^th star is the fact they don’t offer bell pepper as one of the options for your taco/​burrito.
