Jali Alterations

Was very specific on the service I needed for tapering jeans over the phone and she quoted me $ 25ish with a hem, but when I went in she said it was $ 40. DO NOT GO HERE, they’ll rip you off!

I had some particular and specific things I wanted for my wedding dress. After receiving big promises and horrific results from a dress maker in China, I bought an off-​the-​rack dress, dyed it and started searching for a tailor. I have definitely found that having a great fit can really make a look, so I didn’t want to skimp on tailoring… but I also only had about 12 days to turn an ordinary dress into a «wedding dress». I took my two best options to Jalli, who promised to have them back to me within a week. The next day she called to let me to tell me they were finished. I have had tailoring done on work clothes before and wanted something a little better for this occasion. She did a fantastic job. The fit is great and it looks like they were made that way from the start, instead of being altered. Bonus points for her calm, no-​nonsense demeanor. When we were looking at the dress, she distinguished between «the cheap way» and «the right way» to alter the dress, in a non-​judgmental way I appreciated. For some clothes, I might have wanted the cheap way. For this, I wanted «the right way». Thank you Jalli, for making this bride’s life a bit less stressful.

My spouse and I are long time customers who have used many seamstresses over the years and in more than one state. Jalli is our favorite. Her work is impeccable and she is always very pleasant and accommodating. She has altered (and repaired) almost every conceivable article of clothing for us… new and old alike… and is very understanding when we need something done in a short period of time. She always follows-​through. In addition, she is an artist and her unique one-​of-​a-​kind greeting cards and other items are displayed for sale throughout her shop.

I went here to get a pair of pants altered. Jalli said it would take 9 days. I have never had a seamstress say it would take that long for a simple pants hem. I wanted to pay at that time, but then she said I would be charged $ 3 – 4 if I used my debit card. When I came to pick them up on a Saturday I got there at 11:15am and it had opened at 11am. She was not there and had taken a break. It opened 15 minutes before and she had already left to take a break. I had to wait fifteen minutes for her to arrive. She gets there and parks directly in front of the store where I would guess customers would like to park. That’s not a big deal, but it shows you about her customer service. I won’t go here again. Super slow for a simple hem and not great CS.

I’ve very, very pleased with the alterations and advice I receive here. The owner is really nice and the quality of the work is wonderful. I’ve had slacks taken in and shortened, jeans shortened and a blouse taken in all over for a better fit. It’s all good and I’m happy to have found her. Thanks!

I took in a pair of beloved yoga slacks for a consultation re a failing posterior seam. I mentioned that my mother had previously tried to remedy the stitch work, without success. She asked me a few questions, gave me a reasonable quote and told me to come back in 4 days.
She delivered a superior service. It stands up to high frequency stretching, sitting, tugging and frequent washings. A very happy customer.

I needed a pair of slacks altered. Jali Alterations was close by to where we were staying at the time so I decided to try them out. She had a great turn around time, was reasonably priced, was tactful and professional with the measurements, and most importantly, she did a fantastic job and making the slacks fit perfectly! The cherry on top was that she complimented me on my choice of fabric and style. If I need anything altered I will now drive out to her.

I had a dress that needed to get shortened. it was way too long for a petite girl like me. So I went to Jalli Alterations. She was very friendly and offered her advice/​suggestions. She also told me what she had to do so that I was aware of the work she was putting into the dress. It cost me $ 50, which I thought was pretty expensive (It cost the same as the dress did!) But the dress did come out nice. My one «eh» about this place is that she only has one area to change/​try on clothes. I got stuck waiting for this one woman who probably brought in her whole wardrobe to get altered and all I needed to do was try on the dress to see if her alterations looked nice. I waited probably 30 — 40 minutes to get into the changing room. I was in and out in less than 5. Grumble.
My rating was for the entire experience. If you are looking to alter your dress I would say come her if you want to be sure it will come out right.

I had a cocktail dress altered for a party. I was VERY pleased with the alteration! My dress fit perfectly and I felt so comfortable in it all night long. Great experience… I reccommend!

Jali Alterations did a great job with my wedding alterations. Since the moment I walked in I felt welcome and like the owner/​store operator was willing to help me in any way. The customer service was so much better than at the other alteration places I had walked into, so this one definetely got my business. Jali Alterations is everything you ever wanted from an alteration place… I can’t say enough about them. Needless to say, my experience was outstanding.
