Taking Root Nursery

Taking Root Nursery is a family owned, family operating nursery located in Moorlands Heights of Kenmore, WA.
Kathy is a fourth generation farmer from the Midwest. She trained at several horticultural schools and worked at one of the nations leading, family-​owned nurseries as a garden plant specialist. Soon after, Kathy discovered her love for helping homeowners by spreading her knowledge and ability to enhance outdoor living spaces.
Kathy’s children and grandchildren both work and play at the nursery. They graciously lend their hands tending to plants as well as sharing her passion for the garden. Kathy looks forward to sharing her knowledge and treasures with everyone and helping their gardens grow.
Kathy grows over 800 varieties of perennials, fruit trees and vegetables and yet somehow finds time to conduct a few garden art workshops as well! Her workshops consist of glass art, leaf casting, wheel flowers and sedum wreaths.
