The outside is what pulled me into the Market — bright yellow umbrellas with a few outside tables. I was disappointed that when I went in, despite having seating there were more than enough signs that a public restroom was not available. So, don’t plan to eat there if you need a rest room. I ordered the roast beef panini, and it was delish! The beef was tender and tooth tearable, with fresh tomatoes and cheese on a great bread. I decided to forego chips when I saw some candy fruit slices branded from Market Day — What a disappointment — they were very stale and I so expected something else. Earlier comments about the staff were pretty strong — I did not find the staff either friendly or rude, just quiet and not engaging. I would have liked a little interaction, but oh well. I would look for another spot in Kennebunk with facilities and sandwiches, but if I was looking to take something to go, I might go here again.

Love this little shop! I currently have little time for cooking but try to avoid processed food. I was able to get wonderful homemade dinner entrees from the freezer, all of which were fabulous. The soups were great, the fresh cheese dip was great but wow — the lemon basil chicken salad is to die for! Also, a bit surprised about the comments about rude/indifferent staff — the woman who helped me on the day I went in(I think she is the owner) was incredibly sweet and helpful. Maybe it’s a different story in the summer, but my trip there was an A+ and I will be returning soon to stock up again.

I liked the buffalo chicken wrap that I got from Market Day today. There was plenty of meat, everything tasted fresh, and it was made quickly. The people working there seemed friendly enough but I didn’t stick around long enough to start a conversation. The price seemed to be about average(probably cheaper than downtown K’port) and I wish that I had time to explore the store more thoroughly because there was a good assortment of interesting food.

The ONLY reason I am giving this place 3 stars is because of their food. My family has a house in KPT, ME and we have been to Market Day a handful of times for some food items and also their freshly made sandwiches, so this is not a place I’ve been to once and had an unpleasant experience with the personnel, it has happened on multiple occasions. First, the good: the specialty items, premade food items, frozen food items, made to order sandwiches, and wine selection are amazing! Seriously, amazing. I have gotten their Spinach and Feta wrap with spinach, cucumbers, sundried tomato spread and a creamy-citrusy vinaigrette and their Roasted Veggie Wrap, both of which are incredibly delicious. Now, the bad: the attitude of every worker I have encountered here has been awful and rude. It seems that they look down upon you and are annoyed that you are ordering a sandwich which makes absolutely no sense. It is so incredibly off-putting but we can’t bring ourselves to not stop in for a quick bite to eat leaving town or coming in to it, so we deal, but this place REALLY needs to fix their attitude issues or else it just won’t be worth giving them my money anymore.

I used to go occasionally because the food was good. However the dismissive and rude attitude of the owner and workers was beyond reproach and I will not be returning. A smile and a thank you can go a long way…

Great food. These folks got it right with creative and tasty sandwiches along with prepared to go specialties perfect for picnics or at home entertainment. If you go, know what you want because it’s all business as the management tends to be surly and somewhat impatient with customers. You will get tasty food at a relatively high price but do not expect smiles from the staff.

Market Day is a great little shop, packed with provisions. Parking too! Low rise outdoor patio… high tables with umbrellas. NO public bathroom. All kinds of baked goods, frozen gourmet foods, gourmet healthy snacks, large menu for freshly made hot/cold sandwiches… the turkey apple chutney, havarti panini $ 7.50 range… is a recommendation. Full range of beverages, wines, etc. Great for picking up your picnic lunch, like we did… or bet last minute stop when prepping for entertaining at home.

Food is good but not good enough to make up for the pompous, indifferent employees.

Good food, but the owners are mean to teenagers and young adults. I don’t recommend it. It’s also too expensive.

Amazing little market. Great(I mean great) food and take home fair. These ladies got the recipe and recipes just right! From sandwiches to pâté. Start your picnic or party here.

Market Day is a great place to stop in after a day at the beach. The interior is really cute and they have so many different things to choose from. All different kinds of baked goods, snacks, drinks, and a good selection of wine, cheese and accompaniments. We didn’t try the sandwiches but I have heard they are great and there’s many to choose from. When you walk in there’s a large case with prepared salads, dressings, and fun sides like potato salad and crab dip. They also have a frozen section to bring home some of their prepared food for a quick dinner. Whether you need a picnic lunch, quick dinner or appetizers for unexpected guests, this is a great find outside of downtown Kennebunkport. Plenty of parking, too!
