I’m not a very religious person but I honestly feel that if there is a Heaven, it’s Old House Parts Co. I live in Los Angeles and checked it out while visiting 2 years ago and cant stop thinking about all the amazing things that they have salvaged. The people who work there are true master craftsmen and I don’t know another place on earth that compares. Words cannot express how much I love exploring this place — it’s like walking through isles of history, itemized and restored. We made a special trip back east just to go here and can’t wait to go again.

If you like American Pickers you’ll love this place. They have everything imaginable that can be salvaged from old homes and churches– a fascinating place to walk through. Claw foot bathtub? Glass door knobs? Stained glass? Yes, yes and yes!

This is one my of favorite salvage places — I’ve been to about 100 of them in the US and beyond. Great layout, terrific selection, and the nicest staff you’ll ever meet. The awesome cat, Napoleon, will follow you around and show you special things. I especially like the selection of doors, mantles, and hardware, also that they have some unusual antiques — like a metal butter mold I picked up years ago — for impulse purchases.

1 Trackside Drive, Kennebunk, Maine 4043 Not sure where the other address comes from that is listed. We went up this past weekend as we heard they have glass blocks. We are redoing a bathroom and trying to incorporate some recyled items as we can. They have 4000 glass blocks from an old train yard(Circa 1918, from Rigby train yard on Main st. in South Portland, Maine). The blocks measure 7 ¾″ x 7 ¾″ x 4″. $ 8 apiece. So I only needed twelve. I want to go back when the weather is warmer as most of it isn’;t heated. Lots of doors and stained glass items and door hardware. The doors seemed pricey to me but I am not expert in doors for old houses. We didn’t get to see the cat who is a landmark in itself. Another perk… only five minues away from the Maine Diner! And pretty close to Perkins cove so you can make a day of it.

This place is awesome. We were able to find two impossible-to-find doors here(our house was built in 1895 and as such, everything is an irregular size) and the staff were extremely helpful and responsive as we corresponded over e-mail before heading up from Boston. Fantastic selection of beautiful pieces and reasonable(but not cheap) prices.

Really helpful, friendly team here — As I’m bringing my house back to prime, there are all sorts of small details that need addressing. Old House Parts is like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, everything is neatly sorted in a comfortable old barn, and the staff are deeply versed in all the hardware and house parts stock. Worth a visit even if you’re not restoring an old home!
