The Nail Spa by Thao

Whenever me and the family come up to Maine, they insist on getting getting their nails done here. The owner Thao has some kind of loyal following, I have noticed many people coming in from different states over the years. Well I guess we will be back soon.

Despite what the sign says «walk in’s» are NOT welcome. Well, maybe it depends what type of «walk-​in» you are. Turned away today 2 hours before closing because I didn’t have an appointment. The salon was not busy at all with maybe 3 clients and 4 staff members visible. I will happily take my money elsewhere.

love this place. clean, quiet and lots of colors to choose from. the downside is that it is a bit expensive and during the winter they only have a few technicians so getting an appointment may be tough.

I have been going to Thao for about 4 months now. She is absolutely sweet and does a fantastic job. The salon is very clean and nicely decorated. I can see why she has so many repeat clients! I had one of my acrylics break off (my own fault while camping) and she was able to have me in without an appointment on a busy Saturday to make the repair. I high recommend Thao!

Very clean, very thorough, and affordable. It’s even where Barbara and Laura Bush go when in town. Owner, Thao, has high standards and very customer service focused from arrival through departure. It’s small, so call ahead if in a group.

Very nice salon for pedicure. Professional and friendly staff with attention to detail. Very clean. I made a last minute reservation for a pedicure while on vacation and was very happy with my experience. I nearly fell asleep in the chair! I would definitely recommend.

Thao and Cindy were amazing. My husband called at 5:15 on a Sunday to see if they might be able to squeeze me in for a mani/​pedi. We got there at 5:30 and they were both so accommodating and sweet– never made me feel rushed at all (they close at 6 on Sundays). Thao saw that I’d had a previous «fake shellac» manicure at a different place that did a number on my nails– she fixed each nail individually (which was very time consuming) and then gave me an awesome OPI shellac manicure. Cindy and Thao both worked on my feet and I think it’s the best pedicure I’ve ever had. I mentioned wanting to come back on Monday for a brow wax but Thao changed her dinner reservation to stay even later and give me the wax– unbelievable! We were on vacation in Kennebunkport. I can’t wait to go back, and one of the reasons is this place. They were so skilled, professional and sweet and the salon itself was bright, airy, and spotless. You will not be disappointed :)

Sweetest people and the cleanest, most relaxing little nail spa — loved it! As a man, they made me feel very comfortable — coffee and/​or water brought right to me (I had both). Excellent services; will be back for sure!
