We’ve used The Red Barn Inn a few times now, and unfortunately one of our dogs gets kennel cough each time. We won’t be using them again.

I work at the red barn inn and I love it! Getting time to play with the dogs and get to know them one on one is great! We have the dogs free range. They get tons of time to play, sleep on the couch or spend time with the staff. Since we do let the dogs free range for most of the day I do recommend that your dog be doggie friendly. It will cause a lot less stress on your dog and other«guests». If your dog does not enjoy the company of other dogs I recommend Bark Avenue in Arundel, ME. My dog is not very social so this is better for him because he’s more relaxed on his vacation :) Both kennels are amazing and I recommend them both.

We stay in the area every year. Last year, our dog had a bad experience with our local kennel, so we decided to find one closer to where we vacation. I was glad to see this place open and we booked it for a week in early August. I knew I had found the right place when we dropped off Sugar for her stay. Everyone I met picking up their dogs could not say enough good things about the kennel. Another good sign was that my dog went right in with the owner when we dropped her off. The place looked brand spankin’ new and it was very clean and devoid of the typical kennel smell(those of you with dogs will understand that statement. Unless your dog is a behavioral problem, they run free in a gated are and they hand out in a very clean inside area(Free Range Doggies). I also like that it is very close to an exit off of 95, so getting back home was easier than heading back down route 1. I would wholeheartedly recommend this kennel!

The Red Barn is great! Brand new kennel built on a quiet New England farm.
