At the end of August I went into the new Minka for the first time. It’s a beautiful store but in the past, it was hidden on Union St. and like many people, I never found it. All that changed recently, when they moved to what might be the most prominent spot in Dock Square in the heart of Kennebunkport. The spot had been formerly occupied by an artist and I never understood how he managed to pay the rent for this amazing location, but now he’s gone and the very interesting and busy Minka has moved in. It’s full of locally produced goods and everything seems to be really high quality. It’s not a big store by any means, but apparently the old location wasn’t either and the owner knows how to fill the store with gifts that are just begging to be bought.
