BEWARE!!! Initially we loved the Lodge until we came into our room to find that the housekeeper or someone came into our room & moved around our electronics & broke my laptop screen. I immediately reported this to Sophie at the front desk & even had my son take the laptop to she her. It took the manager over 48 hours to contact me back where he advised he would investigate the incident & contact their insurance company. I received a call this morning advising the investigation was conducted & he concluded the housekeeper never touched our stuff. I asked what consisted of his investigation and he said he asked her & she denied it. Really?! He said it’s their policy for staff to never touch electronics for this very reason, but yet she still did. It was most likely an accident as my laptop was left sitting on the end table by the bed but nevertheless, she broke it. She even went so far as to take my son’s ipad & plug it in. So much for the no touching policy. I told him that is ridiculous, it can be easily proved that my IP address was used before we left the room and when we came in it was broken. He said nope, they will not do anything about it, even though they have insurance coverage for this very thing! DONOT patronize this establishment, they will let staff come into your room break or steal from you & will deny it ALL. I will be going to the Kennebunkport Chamber of Commerce & also an attorney. Absolutely despicable. As anyone with employees knows you can tell them one thing & they sometimes do another. I am shocked at the lack of care for your guests. The so called investigation you conducted was just the manager asking the housekeeper if she did it & then having her sign a slip of paper. More than likely it was an accident but you still refused to acknowledge this incident. It is easily proved when the IP address was used, when we left the hotel & the moment we came back we spoke directly to Sophie at the front desk. This is disgraceful for a business to conduct itself this way. I was planning on coming back up in the fall to stay here but due to the way this was handled you not only lost my business but the bad reviews & future customers you will lose due to this will far exceed the $ 225.00 repair for which WAS caused by damage of your staff. Do the math. Poor management & business practices. We are business owners ourselves this was a bad call, so 17 years of having satisfied guests, superior customer service & a good reputation are over with one poorly handled incident. Be advised that a police report was filed with the Kennebunkport police, it was reported to the local Chamber of Commerce and we have an attorney working on pursuing this further.

Staring with the great part! Sophie in the office is friendly, happy and very eager to help. Having said that, she is in my room cleaning the bathroom which appears to have been overlooked. Although I haven’t slept here yet, I can tell the beds are old and feel far from plush and comfy. The bedding looks old and a but grungy. We’re only here for one night and the rate and location is great! Just know that it is every bit a motel.

Best place in Maine. Old time two story motel. Rooms are spacious, clean and well appointed. Close to all that is Kennebunkport. If you want to impress people and spend $ 350 per night, this ain’t the place. If you want a clean comfortable room with great staff close to southern Maine attractions for under $ 150 a night, in season, stay here.

We got the great groupon deal which was very reasonable compared to other hotels in the area. The rooms are outdated, and the mattresses are stiff, but the rooms and property are clean. The front desk, especially Sophie, was extremely friendly every time we walked in, and very helpful in giving us tips in the area. We don’t like eating having lobster out because of the mess, and she pulled out a number to a local lobsterman who cooked it for us, we picked it up, and brought it back to the hotel where we ate outside. They were huge lobsters, and the best we have ever had. They provided us with plates, butter, and utensils to crack the lobsters. They offered this, and it is outstanding customer service. Even the housekeeping staff goes out of their way for patrons. When we first arrived, we were looking for the ice machine to refill out huge cooler. I just wanted to know where it was, and she insisted in getting us ice. She came back with 3 buckets filled with ice and could barely carry it all. Even the other person filling in at the front desk was helpful. They have fresh coffee available 24⁄7 at the front, the breakfast was decent with cereals, bagels, muffins, hard boiled eggs, fruits, OJ, among other things. The location is quiet, and although not really walking distance to town or the beach, it is a few minute drive and is pretty close. We enjoyed our stay, and getting to everything we wanted to see was easy. Service at this place for a lower budget hotel is excellent to make sure guests are comfortable. This tells me that there is also good management supporting the staff.

This is an old-fashioned two story motel that is reasonably priced. The rooms are very clean though dated in style. Bed was comfortable. I appreciated windows that opened. No elevator. Room 217 was close to the road though noise was not a problem.

Affordable, comfortable, friendly, and very clean. Free wi-fi and continental breakfast, and a mini fridge in the room make it even more comfortable.

We were very pleased with this place. It is a two story motel style accommodation but has been renovated and they are very pet friendly. The rooms were very clean and updated. Marble vanity in the bathroom. A/C worked great. The woman at the front desk named Sophie was very friendly and helpful. It was a little out of the way. Not within walking distance of shops and restaurants. If that’s what your looking for you have to pay $ 200 – 250 a night. This place was reasonably inexpensive.
