Congemi’s Shoe Repair

Took my purse in on a Saturday to get the original zipper back on the slide. 15 bucks seemed very reasonable. They told me they’ll call once it’s ready. I called them on Wednesday and they said it wasn’t ready. They also said the guy does purses once a week and they’ll try to get it done by Friday. Okay, fair enough. I called Friday and they guy says, «I’ve got purses here for three weeks» and «purses are not our priority». Now I’m a bit upset because had they told me that when I took my purse in, I would have gone elsewhere. They said I can get a refund so I went in on Saturday to get a refund. They’re a lot nicer in person than on the phone. He had to look through a stack of bags and there was mine in that stack. They need to be more organized because this was an $ 800 dollar bag and it was just sitting in a pile. So they apologize and say they can fix it and it took them less than 10 mins!!! Why couldn’t they just have done that in the week they had it?! Zipper works fine now, problem solved! My recommendation: don’t take anything «nice» here due to the disorganization and don’t expect to get it back anytime soon.
Also, when I took it in originally, a guy at the back of the line of 4 people handed the cobbler his shoes and were able to get them back by end of business. Not very professional — probably a friend of theirs. I would not come back here. I’d rather ship my items out or find another place.

I hate throwing away heels where only the tap fell off. Saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. Brought 4 pair in, and had to run to the ATM because I was short a few dollars ($ 9/​pair + tax, just under $ 40) By the time I came back, they were all done! Sweet!

Brought in black and white leather purse that I nearly threw out due to some pretty bad looking discoloration/​staining on the white leather. Similar businesses closer to the city would not touch it, but the owner of the shop said he could fix it up. That he did– timely and affordable (30 $), the bag looked nearly brand new. The owner also mentioned a shoe repair is $ 9! Highly recommend– worth the drive from Nola.

I walked in with shoes to repair, and walked out with the shoes. When I showed the man at the counter my shoes, he asked me if I wanted to wait. WHAT? Of course yes, and it took no more than 10 minutes. Best service ever! I highly recommend this shop for shoe repair.

You’ll need cash, but they were affordable and timely with the repairs I needed. I’ll be going back.

Great service and great work. I just took a pair of boots into Congemi’s and they were friendly and welcoming. They put new heel soles on my boots while I waited. I was in and out with boots as good as new in ten minutes. Thanks to the other reviewer here, I found a great place to repair my shoes and I will be back.
