Italian Pie

Really just kind of underwhelming all-​around unfortunately. We came in for a late weekend dinner, probably 90 minutes before closing. There was one other table seated when we arrived. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which was okay. The container is dip is kind of small compared to the amount of breadsticks they give you. We also ordered a small meats pizza and the Tommaso’s Venetian chicken, which came with a big salad and a mini cheese bread pizza, a lot of food for the $ 12.95 price tag. The main issue was the service. Both of our drinks were empty when the food was brought and the server quickly fled before we even had a chance to ask and of course she didn’t notice. She was MIA for awhile after that, we tried calling «excuse me» but nobody came out. During this time, we also realized that we needed the usual pizza setup of parm and chili flakes and that the chicken entrée was look warm at best and the sauce cold. When the server finally returned to the room, we had to flag her down (she never checked in on her own throughout the evening) we make our requests and tell her about the chicken dish. She takes it off to the kitchen where we hear her shout, «He says the chicken is cold!» Several minutes later, it is returned after a supposed trip through the oven again, though I don’t notice much difference. Maybe because she started cleaning up for a good 5 – 10 minutes before going back to the kitchen, so maybe it was hot at one point and then just sat again. If the food was great, maybe I could overlook the poor service, but unfortunately that was not the case.

Not the greatest pizza. Could have used more sauce. That was a big negative in my review, as sauce and cheese ratios are most important next to ingredients. The toppings were good, but also overkill on the beef and bacon.
Nice atmosphere is good, so I may try place again just not for the pizza.

My Mother and I went here Friday 2−5−16 at about 7 PM. We each ordered a calzone. The restaurant was not busy, yet it took a while to get our calzones. (This should have told us something: a restaurant not busy on a Friday night?) When the waitress brought them to the table, we noticed the crust on my Mom’s was a beautiful golden color. Mine was burned: brown on top and black on the bottom, literally. After calling the waitress back to our table to complain about the burned calzone, she explained that it wasn’t burned; one side of the oven is hotter than the other. (Huh?) She offered to have it remade. I declined, since we had already waited so long. At no time did a manager come to our table to apologize, or try to make things right. When we got the check, we noticed Mom’s calzone was $ 1.00 more than the price on the menu. The waitress blamed it on the automated computer system. (I was not charged for my calzone, which I had sent back without eating). This was our first time visiting this restaurant– and our last. We’ll never go back.

Bought a local coupon book and they would not honor the coupon. Kind of dumb to lose business over a coupon.
There wasn’t a soul in there, doesn’t look like anyone has eaten there in years, now I see why.

Extremely nice people love the waiter food was fresh and hot I would definitely come back again

It had been ages since I ate at Italian Pie so I thought I would give them a try. I was sadly disappointed — guess that’s why it’s been so long since I have eaten there. I usually do repeat business when I enjoy someone’s food. I had the Chicken Alfredo and it was just okay. No real taste — too bland for me. I also got the ceasar salad which was okay and the garlic bread pissed me off because I forgot they don’t use french bread. Instead they put cheese on pizza dough and pass it off as GARLIC BREAD! I also had the Tiramasu which was just okay. Guess I really need to stay with the places I know serve food to my liking. So for me it was just passable. Sorry Italian Pie but you won’t be getting my business again — back to the drawing board for something new and acceptable.

The food is good/​great, but I agree with Hank M., the restaurant needs a make over.

My fiancé and I stopped here today. We started with the mozzarella sticks. When they came out we noticed most of them were busted open. Looking at them further, it was obvious they were baked not fried. They weren’t hot and were burnt on the bottoms. I was shocked that they even put that on our table. After expressing that we weren’t pleased, thankfully they did take them off the bill. We ordered a half and half pizza. It was a decent pizza, not great, but decent. The building seemed in desperate need of cleaning. After going to the back to find the restroom, I found out exactly how dirty it was. I got a good view of the kitchen and behind the counter. Pretty gross. Needless to say we won’t be returning.

Been here twice as it’s very close to my new place. Have had the spinach and garlic lasagna and the eggplant gourmet pizza. Lasagna was decent but pizza was awesome. Very full of flavor and delicious garlicky crust. Also when we dined in although small service was good and we even got a very reasonably priced bottle of wine.

I try ordering the same pizza about once a year hoping maybe it would be under new management. The gourmet spinach and artichoke. I have never gotten it right. I order extra spinach because there is only one little broken up leaf of spinach or artichoke on each slice. I get charged but né
ver receive. It is mainly bread and very little ingredients. I’ve spoken to the owner in person and on the phone and she is unwilling to help at all. She also refuses to honor $ 3 off coupons with no expiration date. I was told it was a limited time and that time was now over.

Had the spinach and artichoke appetizer (free with check-​in) and chicken Parmesan meal ($ 13) for dinner.
Portion size was plenty enough for leftovers. Chicken was a little bland, but garlic bread was excellent.
Service was great. Lisa is awesome!
Have make your own pizza on Tuesday’s for the kids. Very fun.

First of all i love the location and here’s why. I can get my meat lovers piza and bbq wings and once im done eating food its dessert by the Baskin Robinsons. Now back to Italian Pie, i appreciate everything about the place, I like to look at the pictures on the wall and i like to feel like its pizza joint quality. My wings were delicious and my pizza was cool too. I can dig it!

Italian Pie always has great food. For some reason this location is usually pretty empty when I go in. Hope that changes, don’t want this restaurant to go away!
My only complaint, the restaurant is definitely dated. Its really in need of a makeover. Get Gordon Ramsay in there! :-)

Nice place for pizza or calzone. Reasonably nice and great service. They are very friendly.

The portions are great, and the food was great. The special ceasar dressing is awesome, the best we had ever had. Our server (Lisa) was awesome and we just found out that if you are local then they deliver, so see ya later Dominoes.

I got some take out today… girl on the phone was polite but not very familiar with the menu or obliging to any special orders. The menu online should be updated bc they no longer sell the caprese salad. which is the only reason I called in… plus the girl on the phone said they couldn’t do a half n half po-​boy meatball/​Italian bc they were different prices? On the menu it said they were both the same, maybe she didn’t know or didn’t care? Either way it was kind of annoying.
I ended up getting 4 cheese ravioli which was decent, but just very basic. The best thing I ordered was the garlic bread w ranch… basically bc u can put ranch on anything and have it taste delicious! I wasn’t impressed, the breaded wings were good though… I’d suggest that. I got a lot of food for the money, but was disappointed that they didn’t really cater to what I wanted which was feasible and reasonable to say the least, also they need to update the menu.

The takeout portions here are pretty huuuge for the $. We’ve had the pizza, spaghetti, and chicken parm. You get six pieces of cheese bread with an entrée. Oh! Almost forgot you also get a nice little Italian salad with an entrée. Additionally, they have these gigantor cookies you can get for an extra buck or two, just in case you feel you may not get as fat as desired from everything else you ordered.
Delivery is quick. If you go in to pick-​up they are pretty friendly and cool to talk to. There was a Unilocal coupon on my phone — they said it only worked for other locations but not the Kenner location. BUT they still gave me a discount anyway. :)
The food is pretty yummy but I don’t suggest ordering from here unless you are prepared to feel gordo afterward. Like don’t be banking on getting into your skinny jeans the next day. I definitely feel like a brontosaurus after we order from Italian Pie. Tastes good going into the situation though!

Love the Pizza, Delivery is fast. The sandwich i ordered was on dry stale bread.

The menu is extensive and the food was great. The people working were polite and store was clean. The physical location does leave a bit to be desired, though. I would give an additional star rating, but the location refused to honor the Unilocal check-​in coupon for a free appetizer. Very disappointed in that aspect. Remove this offer if you aren’t going to honor it.

The place is old and needs some updating but the pizza was very good and the waitress was very nice and gave good service. I will go back when I want a pizza pie.
