On my most recent visit to NOLA I made it 48 hours without a beignet. I thought I was going to get out clean when I noticed the West Beignet shop next to the Delta counter at the airport. I heard the siren call and answered. The beignets here are respectable and tasty, no doubt. The dough seemed a bit heavier than their famous cousin at Café Du Monde. They are fresh made to order which makes for a quick, hot treat!

Some of the best beignets I have ever had. There are best especially when they are freshly made, and eaten with a dark roast coffee(black of course). The service is quick. There isn’t too much seating so be prepared to eat those messy beignets elsewhere in the airport. Take lots of napkins!

This is your last opportunity to get some beignet before leaving New Orleans. Prices are similar to café du monde but there is a slight discount if you get more than 3 beignets. The beignets are made on the spot with the fryer in the back of the counter. Orders may take some time to make so don’t order it if you’re running late and have a flight to catch.

When the title of your establishment has the main dish in it you shouldn’t run out of this item. We waited over 1.5 hours for one order-luckily we had time to kill but come on…

Yes, we’ve all been warned not to expect any sort of fine dining at MSY, and Nola has spoiled us until this point, but… The beignets themselves were not bad at all. Fluffy and not too sweet or greasy. Wouldn’t advise the coffee, but that’s to be expected. Service was the sticking point here. You see, we ordered the *shock* stuffed beignets and still ended up with their(lesser, but still tasty) cousins. The place seemed understaffed, or something. But when a place is manned by a lone employee who fails to acknowledge the existences of customers for extended periods of time… maybe if they didn’t turn away so much business coming through this little airport, they could afford to hire more employees and streamline this operation?

Last chance for freshly fried beignets, topped with a mountaun of powdered sugar. I’m so glad this place opens at 5am, the coffee could’ve been stronger, but the beignets are hot n’ fresh, probably my second favorite beignets after Café Du Monde. For a small black coffee and a bag of three beignets, $ 5.13!!!

If you don’t feel like venturing into the touristy french quarter, this is a great alternative! No lines and fresh, delicious beignets! There is about a pound of sugar on these things. The dough is a little more dense than Café DuMonde. The service was friendly enough and I had beignets in my hand in less than 3 minutes. I will definitely make another stop next time I’m passing through.

For under $ 3, these guys served us 4 giant beignets.(Old New Orleans trick: Eat these with a knife and fore and you aren’t wearing powdered sugar!) Their café au lait is excellent. The beignets are«heavier» than the light Café du Monde variety. They’ll get you in and out with a smile really quick, as West Beignets is located prior to the TSA line in NOLA. These folks served stuffed beignets which to a purist seems odd. There was raspberry, lemon, chocolate and a few other options. When you have a dish this good, why muck it up?(Seems like putting mole on lasagna!). We tried«normal» beignets. I really miss the old Café Du Monde location which was in the airport pre-Katrina. Definitely worth the stop!

It’s not the best beignet in town but it can definably soothe your cravings. They are too large in size and it takes a long time for them to be cold enough to eat. It’s little doughy inside and not as crunchy outside. But if by any chance you missed to dine at Café Du Monte, you can have to opportunity to eat some here. The place is located by the Delta Airlines. You will not find any beignets after you pass security. This is your last chance to try them. It’s best to buy them and eat them after you passed security, specially if your in a hurry. it will also be cold enough to enjoy them. We did the mistake and ordered coffee with it thinking we have time, but we didn’t:-(so we had to throw out our coffees since you can’t have liquid when you go through security.

It’s no Café Du Monde but it’s a one last beignet before you Geaux Home… the service isn’t with a smile but if I worked in an airport all day is probably be the same shining example she was. Coffee was super hot & very strong & they have flavored syrup for it. Lots & lots o’powdered sugar! Overall yum… just not the same one! Worth the stop tho

Pricing is like that of Café Du Monde. Three beignets for an affordable price under $ 2.50 A major difference here is that they offer stuffed beignets and it would contain stuffing like chocolate or a fruit topping. Menu is limited but also offers coffee and café au lait(coffee with warm milk) and its as good as what’s found at an gas station. Being that this is my first time(I think) watching someone fry beignets, I was surprised to see the state of the fryer. The machine could have been cleaner and the oil was definitely very old. The oil is almost brown in color, now of course it’s only donuts going into the oil but it’d be better if that oil was getting changed out more often. But hey. I don’t make donuts so what do I know? Beignets go into the fryer as they are ordered, so you’ll get a fresh one every time. I thought service was decent until I witnessed how the only café attendant responded to an International customer. Since this is an airport coffee shop I would assume, all kinds of people are traveling through here often. In New Orleans, in the past few days I’ve come across Australians, Norwegians, Brazilians(OOh mama!) Canadians, South Americans and still so many more kinds of people. This gentleman with as little English as he could muster wanted a fresh cup of Joe for he and his group. The attendant was unwilling to try and listen, then respond to his requests, instead giving glaring looks and overacting with her arms of displeasure over his inability to explain to her clearly what was needed. He was about to walk off before I intervened and helped their group with ordering. I should have gotten some commission, I tell ya.

Had to have one more beignets before we left New Orleans. The boys say it’s the same as café du monde, but I think these are a bit more doughy and less icing sugar. Not bad though. We actually went in for stuffed beignet, but they were out. Not bad to stop off if you’re having a craving.

I love this place. It’s convenient, it’s your last hoorah in NOLA, and it’s delicious. Yes, it’s messy, but it’s worth it. Don’t bother with the stuffed beignets, go for the original. The staff could use some happy pills, but otherwise this is a great spot!

The best thing about West Beignet is convenience. Because when your trip to NOLA is ending and you hit the airport on your way home you will realize you are going to have to go without beignets for a long time. But not yet — you can still have one more fix. Try to avoid the powder-sugar dusted chairs and tables if you’re wearing a business suit.

It’s convenient for a quick bite. It’s located inside the airport before the gates. The beignets are fresh. You can see the waitress fry them up before your eyes. The beignets are cheap but the drinks are overpriced. However customer service is horrible. The lady is rude, uninviting and will not even say«Thank you» or «Have a nice day». I witness the lady make customers wait to place an order just so she could finish her own lunch. She is very unprofessional and always wears a frown. I know because I’ve been here at least five times. The only reason why I come back is because it’s convenient and there aren’t many other options I have when I am stuck at an airport. The tables are dirty with leftover powdered sugar from previous customers. Basically, good food, over price, rude staff, dirty tables.

Don’t judge me. No, it’s not Café du Monde, but it’s cheap and good and at the airport when you are still jonezin’ for just one more beignet! They make each batch hot and fresh to order and do a pretty good job. They ran out of chicory lattes which was unacceptable, but at least the beignets were good. Three stars!

Fabulous coffee, fabulous beignets and reasonable in price. I spent plenty of moments here for both my short deployments to NOLA. Servers could be a smidge more friendly. Everyone else was so it was a surprise they weren’t as cheerful. I even tried to get them to smile. They were hard nuts to crack. Still…the coffee is b o m and I love the pastries. :)

oooooh, I found the best beignet place in NOLA. In case anybody else is going to NOLA in the near future… It’s at the MSY airport near Gate C, called West Beignet. They fry it fresh and never serve any beyond 1min. Light airy fluffy center, nice thin crunch on the outside — yumminess. I just followed a long line of locals and they were all looking kinda sheepish… so I knew where-ever they were going must have been sinful. hahah.

For a major city like New Orleans to not have more options in their airport is disappointing, but how many cities(outside of the South of course) have beignet joints? I’m going to lean toward very few. Fans of the ever popular beignet can have them here, but for a price. Most airport food already is going to be expensive, but this place hikes it up a notch. $ 6.99 can get you a a sack of beignet fingers and a drink and another $ 2 gets you a regular beignet. Breakfast is usually when I’ve frequented this place, but only because the nearby Acme Oyster Co charges ridiculous prices. The taste verdict of the beignets made here? Not bad. But definitely not great. If you’re at the airport and the beignet craving is too strong and there is no time to venture back into NOLA, then this is the place to get some.
