OK, I get it. I can’t return a Christmas card in January or a Halloween card in November. My wife sent me in to buy a 50th birthday card and I misunderstood her and bought a 50th Anniversary card. So I went in to exchange the card a few weeks later. I was also purchasing 3 cards. The clerk told me that I had waited too long to return it. I pointed out that there was no calendar limit on a 50th anniversary card and that I was going to purchase a few more cards but she would not budge. So I left the cards on the table and have not bought from Hallmark since. It is no surprise that this store is now out of business! The thrived for years under the previous owner.

My wife is a 4’9″ Filipina, she has told me on several occasions that she felt unhelped here so we did a little test. We were going to a house warming and we both entered the store a fewminutes apart, she ahead of me. After I came in, she wentto the counter and asked the clerks(2 were on duty having agood time chatting it up) where she couldfind the house warming cards. Oneclerk pointed the the far back corner andaid over there, and turned to continue her conversation. My wife stold the clerks that she had looked over there already and asked to be shown where the cards were and ahead told, «we are busy». My wife left and the girls started laughing, I assumed at her. I waited a few moments and approached the counter where the clerks were still chatting and asked for help, the same clerk who refused to help my Filipino wife stopped her conversation to help me, a 6’2″ white 40 male; what conclusion could one make. I contacted the owner, at least she claimed to be the owner, and filesmy thoughts with her and told her I found it to be unacceptable treatment of any customer. She argued with me and I told her that we would not be returning; to which she said«fine we don’t need your business anyway. Enough said!
