One of the strangest shopping experiences ever. A sales associate came up to me asking if I needed assistance. I inquired about a stole or shrug for an evening event. She said «we have lots of tops» and started showing me sweaters. I said, «No, I’m looking for a stole or a shrug». She kinda stared at me for a second and said, «well, there’s tops all around — you can look» and walked away. So, I thought, maybe she doesn’t know what a stole is? Left to my own devices I found a long eyelet coat with a fur collar that I thought was absolutely stunning. I went to find her and asked her about the coat. She had no idea what I was talking about. I said «the lace coat with the fur collar» It was the only black coat there! The rest were jackets. She picked up a leather bomber jacket: «This one»? Ugh…
I didn’t buy anything.
Borderline incompetent. If you’re going to be working in a fashion store, you should know some terminology, or, AT LEAST, know the product you are selling.
