Facelogic is to facials, what Massage Envy is to massage. Facelogic sells membership packages that provide monthly facials, among other benefits. I’d heard about a one-time«try it» offer, so I made an appointment. I was very pleased with the look of the spa’s reception area. The products were neatly displayed and the décor was peaceful and fresh. The receptionist was very friendly and chatty, and took time to explain the Facelogic concept without seeming too pushy or desperate. The technician came and escorted me to the treatment room. She was very sincere, friendly and knowledgeable. What I didn’t love was that the treatment«rooms» for the facials were really just curtained off cubicles and the three walls didn’t go all the way to the ceiling. I was the only customer at the time, so I didn’t hear anyone else, but I could only imagine what it would be like if three or four people were having treatments. And I don’t really love getting undressed behind a curtain.(Yes, you have to take off your top for a facial because the technician usually gives a shoulder and neck massage as part of the facial.) So, I’m very private and I don’t want anybody peeping at me or even catching an innocent glimpse of my private zones! And we all know that a curtain doesn’t always close around the edges… unless it’s one of those shower curtains with the mini suction cup thingies, but I wasn’t in a shower, AND I digress. Anyway, the technician did a great job throughout the facial. But I also didn’t love the fact that I got sucked into being up-sold while in the chair. I mean, really, how am I gonna turn down an extra whatever-you-call-it peel when you’ve cleansed my skin and proceeded to examine every inch? Obviously, I think you saw something wrong with my skin that gives you good reason to suggest it, so I’m not gonna say no. I think I digressed again. After it was all over and my skin was glowing, I was escorted out to the front where the technician showed me the products that she used on my skin that I could purchase and take home with me. I didn’t succumb. Rather, I politely declined and checked out, paying for my two additional whatever-they-were peels that I was sold while in the chair. I really enjoyed the service and the spa was nice. I just didn’t love the up-selling and the«flimsy» treatment rooms. The location was right on Barrett Parkway, which is convenient, but also can be treacherous with all the crazy traffic on that road.
