Loud has to be the most difficult company of any sort to deal with when trying to terminate services. I attempted to terminate their monitoring services in December 2014. As of June 2015, I am still arguing with their very rude employees regarding the amount of my final invoice. Not only do they insist upon erroneously interpreting the contract that they assumed from my original security company in such a way that I have to pay them for an additional six months beyond the time they stopped monitoring my system, but they keep adding random charges to the amount due. If you are considering using Loud, I suggest you reconsider and stay far away from these people. They are horrible!

We were a customer of Loud Security since January 2009. They installed the system in our home as well as monitored my business and my husband’s. We started having issues with a CO2 monitor beeping. After many calls they first wanted to send out a technician for $ 80, but after we complained they sent a SALES rep(very inexperienced) to our home who tried to sell us an updated system for a lot of money. My husband was not happy so he called Loud a few times until he was able to get John Loud and his sales manager out to look at the issues. Again, they tried to upsell us a new system for over $ 1,000. Our main keypad was unreadable, which they acknowledged as an issue. They wanted to replace the CO2 monitor for an additional $ 200! When we inevitably tried to cancel our service they said that we had to give them 60 days notice from a renewal date we didn’t even know about. Initially we did have a contract with them, but we were way past the expiration date. They told us that they automatically roll the contract over for ANOTHERYEAR if we don’t cancel. No warning, no contact letting us know that our contract year is up. Shady way to do business. I told Loud I wasn’t going to pay the two months of service due to the issues. They were supposed to contact John Loud, but I never heard back from him after several calls. I keep getting bills. BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!

I had a security system for years which went out of business in 2009. They sold their clients to Loud. Again, a standard monitoring company with quarterly payments. When I sold my house they asked that I sign a cancellation form. That seemed a little strange. I had a lot going on, quickly signed it and sent it back. Now they want me to pay for six month of monitoring on a house I no longer own. This is an obvious scham and I would not use them. Be warned. I don’t intend to pay them of course but its a hassle. There are plenty of other reputable services around.
