I have been coming to this salon ever since I moved to Atlanta in 2011. I have had my hair cut and colored by executive stylist Bien every time and I am always extremely happy with the result. Bien listens to everything I’ve asked her to do with my hair and offers helpful suggestions when I ask. She is always very personable and is a great listener, which creates a relaxing and enjoyable experience at the salon. As for the haircuts, over the years I’ve asked for layers, no layers, short, with a ‘v’ shape or a ‘U’ shape in the back, and each time it has come out perfect. For the hair color, I’ve gotten ombré with brown and ombré with red and purple. The color was blended beautifully with my black hair each time. I’ve had my hair cut and colored in NY and CA before moving to Atlanta and I can say she is the best stylist I have ever used, and her prices are very reasonable for the quality. You will not be disappointed when you come to this salon! Ask for Bien!

Super friendly staff, Christina gave me a fantastic cut. The owner, Bien, is engaging and understands how to take care of customers. Highly recommend.

I came in for a «perm» about 5 months ago. I had an appointment with an executive stylist Anjelika who was friendly. As we all know perms don’t have a great odor; but that doesn’t give ANY of the staff the right to laugh, make me feel unwelcome, make rude jokes with other customers/stylists about how bad it smells or how«out of style» I am for getting this service. The«perm» itself was horrible. I had the smell in my head for a month with no curls. I have had perms in the past and have never had issues with the smell and they all have lasted a year plus. This one lasted about a ONE week. Needless to say, I will not be back and it was a waste of 200 $. Hope that goes towards your«imported Italian leather chairs» since that’s all you care about.

I got my hair and extensions lightened and colored and the junior stylist«Jessica» did a terrible job. She rushed through the process, she didn’t seem to care whatsoever, and she wasn’t even gentle. I was charged $ 190 for a poor job. She charged me $ 86 for my hair color and $ 104 for my extensions. I asked why was it so expensive and she told me that she used extra chemicals. …well she didn’t tell me about using extra chemicals. I was beyond furious. However Bien, the owner was nice enough to give me a refund on my extensions and she offered to color my hair and give me a cut for free and she also threw in some free products for my hair. So I returned for her to recolor my hair so it could match my extensions and it turned out to be extra dark brown. I was a bit confused. Overall, I will not be returning to this salon. Ever.

Summary: Rude, bad stylist, horrible hair cut, terrible service. The first time I came in, it was awesome. I called in, Lauren said she’d squeeze me in the very same day and gave me a great coloring and cut. Three months rolls by and I want to make another appointment because I was so happy with my hair. I call in and talk to the receptionist and I ask her about the prices for coloring and cuts because I had discounts for being a first-timer last time and she refused to talk to me and told me when I come in I can talk to the stylist. I found that really rude considering that I’m going to be spending my money there and I would like to know how much I had to, five minutes for her time wouldn’t of killed her. So I come in for my appointment, I finally found out how much my hair was going to cost me. ELISE dyes my hair, no problem. She’s a junior stylist like LAUREN so I thought it would be alright if she cut my hair. No! It wasn’t. She didn’t really do the layering I wanted in the back and I was tolerant of that, whatever, but then She HACKEDOFFMYBANGS to the point that they are now half way down my forehead. I showed her the haircut I wanted with a picture too and the bangs of the haircut was suppose to lay a little pass my eyebrows. Even worse they’re crooked, uneven and little pieces of hair irritates my eyes. I can’t even do anything about them because they’re so short. I didn’t complain though ’cause I thought it was just how my hair reacted to haircuts that made it look funny. Until the next day when I finally realized that she really messed up. So today, which is the next day after my haircut, I called to make a complaint and possibly a refund because I’m not paying for a HAIRCUTTHATSUCKS and they PUTMEONHOLDTWICE. Finally when I was able to talk to someone, she didn’t even talk to me for five minutes and told me that she’d talk to ELISE when she comes in and call me back later. I’m thinking to myself, «I don’t want to talk. I want my FREAKIN’ MONEYBACK!». In conclusion: Go spend a little bit more of your money for your hair because this place had good prices but a TERRIBLE time. I’m never going back here AGAIN.

I have gone to Portfolio since about 2007 and I have no intension of going anywhere else. I tend to be a loyalist when it comes to my hairdresser, Bien Ho(salon owner). I never book appointments with anyone else for my cut and color, but I know from some of my friends that the other stylists are perfectly qualified. Amanda Brown styled my hair for my wedding and did the most incredible job. I have received more complements on my hair than any other part of my wedding. My bridesmaids also got their hair done at Portfolio and had beautiful updos. The morning of the wedding, we were greeted with Mimosas and some breakfast munchies. The atmosphere of the salon is really cool and modern. Prices are reasonable and the stylists are inviting and talented.

I’m not a girly girl that constantly has to get her hair done, so when I went into Portfolio for the first time in Nov 2007, I had hair midway down my back and really just wanted a trim. When I took one look at my hairdresser, Amanda(she looked cool, funky, and fun), I knew she was the one that could pull off a major change to my hair and I 100% trusted her. She understood my concerns with shorter hair especially since I have naturally wavy hair. She did a fantastic job and have gone back several times. She’s great with both color and cuts. About the salon-They are a Paul Mitchell salon. The salon is black, white and red… very modern, which isn’t really my thing, but I can deal with it. No one there seems snooty or pretentious, which I like. As far as prices go, I think they are fair. I will continue to go there even though I live 30 miles away now.
