What do you seek in your dentist:
— Excellent care? You’ll find it here.
— Professional staff? Mostly, though Dr. B, Jr frequently complains about his hygienists
— Affordability? Less so, but fair
— Legal documents to prevent lawsuits? Yeah, this one stunned me.
As a patient with my family for more than a decade, after being billed repeatedly for additional services (ordered too frequently), I was confronted with two forms in the same visit:
1. On check-​in: an acknowledgment that I was personally responsible for all incurred services
2. Next, after declining a suggested «uncovered» service (X-​rays had already been received in prior 12 months), asked to sign another form (before my cleaning began) that acknowledged I had declined the recommended service.
For me, this was too much … sadly, it was time for a new dentist.
