Wife and I decided on a pub crawl on a random Sunday. Our first stop was KBC. Followed by the Creamery, Levante and Rons Original for dinner. KBC is really cool and I was surprised at how good the beer was. We only had one full pint of The Kidd which was nice. We also tried a sample of the Pilsner which was really good as well. Needing a starter snack the bartender said we could do a half and half plate of smoked bbq and buffalo wings. They tasted great but I was disappointed in the size of them. They were small and with that rather dried out. They tasted good and the smoke is more pronounced with the bbq. The atmosphere is decent. The story was told to us about how the owners family and friends all contributed to the interior design of bar. It feels like a corner bar that brews its own beer. The only unfortunate thing in regards to the beer is most are rather high in alcohol which can really limit consumption. One and done here and off to the Creamery down the street. I will be back with more people and possibly an Über. I highly recommend this as alternative to Victory down the road if you need a change of pace.

Went for a couple drinks and an appetizer on a Friday night. We got a flight of all the beers so we could try them all, and we were impressed. They were all easy to drink and not as hoppy as some other microbrews, so it depends on your taste. We shared the meatballs which were great. The band playing was fun and energetic, but was a little loud making it tough to have a conversation. Looking forward to going back.

Good food and better beer. Food: The French Dip was good. Value: OKt. Service: Amateurish. Atmosphere: Typical brewery. Drinks: Beer, not sure if they had anything else. If I’m in the area I would return.

Have been here twice. We Liked the beer and the band, but we’re not impressed with The food. Considering the place is in a basement with no windows, they need to focus on the food and service as well as the beer to stay viable. We will try the place again with the hopes that the food gets better

Came here last night as a golf friend told us about it. Live music was on this night with a blues group that was quite good. Had 2 beers, the black IPA and the lighter one called The Kidd. Both were very good. My food was even better than the beer. We shared a short rib quesadilla first which was cut into big wedges that was superb. Had the mushroom soup which if you love mushrooms you must come here to try. The cup is pricey at 8 dollars but its fantastic and loaded with mushrooms. The pulled pork sandwich on a pretzel roll with spicy slaw on it was killer. One of the best pulled pork sandwiches I’ve had. The owner was nice as was the staff and people brought their kids here as they gave them things to color on while eating. Don’t miss this gem if you are in the Kennett Square area.

Visited KBC on a Sunday afternoon. Waited on by Mary who was fantastic. Ordered the pretzel bites with their cheese sauce made with KBC«Wee Wobbly» beer. The bites were delightful! Then had the meatloaf sliders which comes with a zesty hollandaise sauce. The sliders were moist perfect and we devoured all of them. Finally had the chili and buffalo wings. Both were perfect. A great spot that continues to evolve in new and exciting ways! Crowd included many families with young children who had fun coloring with the provided coloring books. KBC is a must visit when in Kennett Square!!!

Went here for St Patrick’s day for the first time. Super friendly service, good food, loved the Head Skull Beer, great live music. Will definitely be back. Would be 5 stars but our high top table was very uncomfortable and uneven(my beer kept spilling) next time I’d wait for a regular table. Not a big deal at all. Go check it out! Oh and they need a big bright sign, it was a little hard to find in the alley. Loved the artwork thou!!!

Kick ass beers. Great selection. Excellent atmosphere. Awesome huge tables. Nice staff. Very helpful. Not easy to find unless you know what you’re looking for. Easy to afford. Good prices. The food is good but not great. Too far from other things to go too often.

Came in based upon a Unilocal review…& I was not disappointed. The beers are nuanced & the vibe is nice & friendly –especially for a «person of color» like me, who typically feels like I’ve landed from another planet in most PA brewery restaurants(BTW: I think I hate that expression because everyone has color!). Anyway, I was warmly greeted by the proprietress & I informed her that since«l don’t want to waste calories on bad beer» a positive Unilocal!Review brought me in… And this pleasant experience WILL bring me back!

Can’t get over how awesome this place is! My boyfriend and I were in the area after a visit to Longwood Gardens over Valentine’s Day weekend. We researched some places to grab food and a drink before heading home, and Kennett Brewing Company stuck out due to its great reviews. Being that it is only 10 minutes from Longwood, we decided to give it a shot. The brewery is located down some steps right off the main drag in Kennett Square. I was immediately impressed by the speakeasy vibe of the tasting room — it was dark, lit up with cool signs and boasted a great wrap-around bar with plenty of seating. We took 2 seats at the bar and both ordered a flight. The beers were all delicious, especially the Head Skull Double IPA. We wanted to take home a tee shirt or glass with the hop skull on it(because we both love skeletons). The owner’s wife was kind enough to take us into the back and show us the part of the building they are turning into a café/restaurant. She let us choose some tee-shirts, and on the way out we met her husband, who explained the history of the area and blew us away with his knowledge of beers. You can tell he is very passionate about his work, and it really shows in the beers that we drank. My boyfriend was hungry and ordered the meatballs. He said they were nice and spicy and paired well with the side of coleslaw. I cannot wait to come back to this place and bring family and friends!

Great beer. Good start. Looking forward to seeing this evolve and grow over time. Lights are too bright, more rustic furniture and needs some work on an authentic ambiance. A must try when you are in town. Food is legit and service was on point.

It wasn’t the brews that I enjoyed the most here, but it was the food. The Kennett Square 3 mushroom soup — shiitake, portabella, and crimini for $ 7 was a rich and creamy treat before my sandwich. A bit of warm comfort food… mmmmm…good. I only wish I could buy it off the shelf. Considering that mushrooms are kind of a big deal in the area, I went for the $ 10 portobello sandwich. My hunky ‘shroom ‘wich hit my taste buds right on point. The pretzel roll and arugula were fresh and the aioli sauce complimented the portobello. My guest seemed a little jealous, but was satisfied with his pulled pork sandwich. Between the two options he did like the portobello better. As far as brews, the flights are the best option but if you’re going to choice a full glass then give ‘Jammy Jammy Bastard’ a try. Side note: The brewery isn’t in plain sight and is wedged in between two buildings.

Very good! Amazing beer that tastes fresh and crisp. Great food and wonderful staff! It is not a large facility. So be prepared to possibly wait for a table and also to have a little of a wait for your food. It is not a fine dining establishment!!! Concrete floors and a very industrial feel! So don’t come here expecting fine dining ambience.

It’s a little hard to find but once your there you’ll be glad you found it. The beer was really good and the food was tasty. Our bill was 72 and we got a flight, 3 pints, a coffee, a salad, the rib sandwich and the beef stew. I think it was well priced. It is totally different than anywhere else you’ve been. Give it a try. With Kennett Brewing Company and Victory in town, Kennett is becoming a nice spot for craft beer. I came here with two other people, and none of us had been before, so we didn’t know what to expect. Walking down into the bar, it does remind me of someone’s basement a bit. Not overly decorated, but all of the decorations seem to be original artwork expressing the KBC brand. We sat at the copper bar and tried our fair share of beers. One of my companions did remark that the beers are described as much heavier than they actually taste. My favorite that I tried was the head skull mind beer. I believe the ABV was around 8%, but it was nice and light tasting. Another good contender that I enjoyed was the Jammy Jammy(ok, that might not be the exact name, but I think I was close). Even the Scotch beer was lighter tasting than I expected. To me, this is a good thing, but this could be confusing if you read their descriptions and develop certain expectations. Luckily they offer a flight option so you can try some before buying. We also tried the food, and everyone generally enjoyed what they got. We tried the pretzel bites, the lobster roll, and the portabella sandwich. The pretzel bites are just regular pretzels that have been cut into smaller pieces. I think it’s a little strange that they don’t just sell these as pretzels, but the truffle salt and the dipping cheese make up for the weirdness. The lobster roll was tasty even this far from Maine, and the portabella sandwich was an easy choice in a town known for it’s mushrooms. All in all we had a great time and will definitely be back.

A call for a Visit Philly photoshoot gave us the opportunity to(finally!) visit Kennett Square — after taking photos at Galer Winery and Victory Brewing, we looped back to walk around town. After exploring a few options via Unilocal,we looked for Kennett Brewing. It was slightly tucked away between two buildings — marked with a badass hop-skull hovering above an arrow … pointing down to a basement entrance! I thought«crud, it’ll be all cool folks with piercings and gauges and tats. I’m going to stand out like skunky beer.» We entered the venue into a dim narrow hallway, which opened up into a lively venue with a great ambiance! Though there are no windows, key aspects drew my focus to the human experience — community seating, helpful staff, and friendly customers. Rare and awesome combo. Food: * BBQ Glazed Meatballs: $ 7. Ground sirloin, scrapple(!!!), Thai BBQ glaze, aged cheddar. * House Pizza: $ 8. Kennett Square cremini mushrooms, prosciutto, plum tomatoes, roasted garlic, basil, fresh mozz on flatbread. We had to try something with mushrooms: I visit the mushroom man at the Rittenhouse Market, and Kennett Square has been this magical mushroom mecca in my mind! Both dishes did not disappoint: we expected standard bar bites, but these blew me away — they were bursting with flavor and perfectly portioned! Look at the photos and try not to lick the screen! Beer: opted for the $ 9 flight. * Wiley Rye(IPL: 9.4%) * Mighty Suskey(Belgian Saison: 8.5%) * Head Skull Mind Beer(Double IPA: 7%) * Wee Wobbly Scottish 100 Schilling(Scotch Ale/WeeHeavy: 5.5%) Some beers overpower you with HOPSHOPSHOPS … or sweet talk you with saccharine fruit flavors. Not these! Each beer had mature, subtle notes to their character. I usually ditch one of a flight on the hubs, but we shared every last one — we liked them all! $ 24 for beer and food for two — we left with both hearts and bellies full. We just returned to revisit the brewery while attending the mushroom festival: . The only downside for our second visit was the limited menu(drumsticks and mac and cheese were ok) due to the festival, but will definitely be back when we visit Longwood Gardens’ Nightscape! Long story short: Good food, good beer, good people, good vibes. I’m a fan — highly recommend!

Stopped by on a Sunday night this summer as we passed through town and glad we did. Ian the bartender was rather happy and helpful! Great pils and good IPA(not wildly citrusy. This was a Vermont style IPA). We’ll be back to try more brews. We shared the lobster rolls and a mushroom special(portobello with tomato, cheese, pesto and prosciutto). Wonderful! Great atmosphere and live music was good too.

This was our second time visiting. The service is great. Quiet, nice servers, helpful and attentive. The beer is great. They have a good local wine also available as well as soda and coffee. First time I had the beef sandwich on a pretzel roll. My husband had the lobster roll. Both were excellent and we were full. This time the service still great. It was a lot busier, you needed to share tables we were very comfortable doing so. We split the same beef sandwich, delicious! Hot and juicy. We also split the Mac and cheese topped with pulled pork. This was ok. The cheese was weak and not hot and gooey like I like it. The pork was good but I just wanted more taste in my pasta. They are going to have to add some specials to the menu eventually so we can come back a lot and have some choices. Well worth the wait!
