Absolutely amazing. Not too expensive, staff is smart. If they don’t have it, they know where you can find it. I never feel rushed, and they slip my kid cookies. Great place.

My brother bought an electric guitar from them years ago, but other than that, I have had little experience with them until now. Last week I stopped by in search of my first mandolin(the preferred instrument of all rock gods). Sadly, as is the trend in these parts, their selection is limited. The salesman was very friendly and had a little knowledge of the mandolin. He was, however, a salesman and there was a noticeable attempt to get me to by one of their Fender mandolin started kits, but I kindly declined in order to do my incessant research. Despite the fact that my music experience is limited to some intermediate piano stuff that I gave up years ago, they were super supportive of me and my enthusiasm to learn. No condescension from these guys. The atmosphere is great and seems like a great place to hang out. I ended up finding a really nice Kentucky F-style mandolin on Craigslist with almost all of the fixins’(and a story) for a great price, but it was in desperate need of some new strings. I originally went to Ted Brown’s because, frankly, it’s easier to get to, but they were sort of giving me the run around as far as time goes, first saying that it would be a day, then saying it would take several days. I ain’t waiting that long for strings, so I brought it here and they were able to put new ones on in about 15 minutes, for about $ 5 cheaper than Ted Brown’s. Quick and easy. I’ll be going back to them from now on because they make you feel like family and treat you right.

I have been shopping for an acoustic for over a year. Haven’t been inspired to pull the trigger for various reasons. The atmosphere at Music Machine is laid back and personable. The staff is knowledgeable, passionate about music and very attentive. NOPRESSURE to buy!!! They made buying my first guitar fun. Competitive pricing and decent selection. Right on par with Musician’s Friend, which I have found to have the lowest prices around. I will be back when I am inspired to buy another guitar and will be recommending them highly to anyone in the market for a guitar or drums!

I have been geting guitar strings and fakebooks from these guys for years. Whether you come by every day or it is your first time, they treat you like a friend. And whether you are buying an instrument, just a set of strings, or nothing at all, they are glad you came and ask you to come back soon. In store inventory is not as big as it used to be, but you have room to move around the store. If they don’t have it and you have to have it, they can get it quickly for you. They also have some really comfy chairs and couches if you want to sit and jam, which they encourage! «Play anything you like» is their slogan. The owner was instrumental in getting the City of Kennewick to abandon a very hairbrained remodel they had in mind for downtown that would have made for less parking and probalby drove away more business. Instead, downtown Kennewick has been making a comeback after the city rethought and redesigned the upgrade. His civic spirit is carried over in how he does business, and it shows in the employees. If you like guitars ATALL, this is the place in Tri Cities to go.
