The atmosphere is nice, but the inside was a little bit chilly. I was hoping my Chai tea latte would warm me up, but it wasn’t hot like I expected. The service was friendly and the cupcakes were cute. My boyfriend had the hot chocolate and enjoyed that it wasn’t scolding hot, so temperature of the drinks may depend on preference.

Was out for lunch today and Caleo was on my list of places to try in Kenosha. So, headed over to Caleo and got a large decaf. First of all, the coffee is delicious! It’s the best cup I’ve had in Kenosha in the 3 weeks I’ve lived here! So good! Second, the atmosphere and décor of the place is so freaking cool. Quite a bit of the furniture is re-purposed wood which is awesome. The lighting and seating is great, the staff is kind and courteous. The only knock I could possibly give them was, I wish they were open later on weeknights, but that’s it. I loved the coffee and the experience! Well done Caleo!!!

Stopped in to try the new caleo at 7:00 pm while my husband was getting his hair cut next door. The server was very friendly. There was a group of seven women visiting and two men on their lap tops. The atmosphere was nice. I ordered a café latte with two sugars. The server forgot to add the sugar and called me back as I was walking out. The coffee was very good but not hot. I could drink it without waiting for it to cool. I give the server credit for calling me back, it would have been easier to just let me walk out the door. I will go back for the coffee and to try a pressed mozzarella caprese sandwich.

So much better than the original Caleo. This is what a coffee shop should be. Creative décor, locally sourced products(Anodyne Coffee, local brews). So cozy inside! Also a big plus that they now offer bloody’s, wine and beer. I hope Kenosha is ready for a community coffee shop like this. Best of luck to Caleo Coffeehouse.

I wanna hang out with friends or read here! I wanna live here! I wanna eat and drink here! I wanna draaaank here! I wanna play games here! Why this place isn’t busier all day long is beyond me. It’s completely cool– décor, music, vibe, staff. Take a look at all the pics I posted. I do this, for you, the people… and to embarrass my husband. I actually high-fived the owner for his décor-hunting prowess, to which I could practically hear my husband rolling his eyes. There was an awkward pause, I thought the dude might leave me hanging, but nah, he didn’t. He had my back. ha! The drinks are delicious, I was able to taste the chai and had a skinny vanilla coffee, both very flavorful! There’s a selection of wine and beer. Smoothies are coming soon, too. Oh, and there’s a drive thru, too! They have great seating whether for cozy comfort, or for getting some work done, including free wi-fi, outlets and plenty of workspace. And they have a long ain’t-movin-for-nothin sturdy table in a separate room stocked with board games, AND to top it off, on Fridays and Saturdays, they offer $ 10BOTTOMLESS Mimosas or Bloody Marys! Or $ 5 for you stick-in-the-muds that only want one. Pahwty poopa! You just can’t beat that! And anyone that knows me, knows the key to my heart is cupcakes, so, you can not imagine how fast my heart was racing when I saw the cutest sour watermelon cupcake on display. The kicker? Chocolate chips on the inside to look like seeds. I know that sounds like a weird combo, but it was yummy! They bring in products and treats from local vendors like Custom Cakery, Oliver’s and Uncanny Soups. Local is very important to them, and not only that, everything we had was downright delicious, except maybe a slightly grainy instead of creamy grilled cheese. Hey– there’s always room for improvement. ;) And the standout for me was the Thai carrot ginger soup. Outstanding! This place is a super duper find! I really wish it was closer to me. I would easily visit 3 – 5 times a week. I’d be drinking a hell of a lot more coffee, I can tell ya that! Which may or may not be a good thing depending on the day. Anyway, we drove about 5 miles out of our way from our destination simply to try it and plan on hitting it up as often as possible. It is worth driving out of your way for. I’m thrilled at how awesome it is, and by default, how awesome I am. ;)

I liked this place before but it’s a lot better since the remodel. I wish they’d bring back the food menu, though. They have some food items, but only a few. The drink menu is also a lot smaller than it was before, but the quality is much better so I’m okay with the change. There is also free wi-fi which is nice. We hold committee meetings here and they’re always really good to us. It’s very roomy so we always have enough room to work even if there’s other groups there, too.

Finally a big city coffee house on Kenosha’s North-side! Calleo does not just make gourmet coffee drinks but they also have a good selection of fresh baked pastries on display and a great breakfast /lunch sandwich menu to go along with their locally roast coffees. Now as of July they also serve beer and wine with a late night small plates menu! Highly recommend if you are looking for a upscale local meeting place for any time of the day. A must try!

I wrote a review about Caleo a couple of weeks ago, but apparently I was too enthusiastic, because it was filtered. Here’s the bottom line: Good service, good food, free wi-fi, and the owner is invested in running a customer friendly business stocked with locally produced items. Give it a try, and you may find me and my wife there!
