Brought here by friends and we were treated like family – like the family you really like. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was excellent. Everything from the achar to the biryani was balanced and fresh!

Chabba is the real deal for genuine Pakistani food. Came here with my 2 daughters, 1 son in law and my very active 5 year old grandson. They are very child friendly when you have a very active child in tow. Their aloo paratha is wonderful as well as their butter chicken. The only change that needs to be made is not charging extra for rice… you need rice to enjoy with all the delicious sauce that comes with each dish. Run don’t walk to Chabba!

This is the first time I am visiting a place with Pakistani food, and I can’t say that I am looking forward for the next visit. But I also don’t think it was bad. It was OK and so is the rating I give the place. Maybe the Pakistani food is not for my taste, or maybe it is the place, I have nothing to compare with, but the food was too salty for my taste, and I think that the size of the portions can be bigger. I heard that the Pakistani people are very generous with the food they offer, so I don’t know. I had the chicken Tikka Kabab, and it was good. The goat Karmhi was OK. It may be the Pakistani style, but I think that the waitresses here are not professional enough to work in a restaurant. They were very nice and friendly, but at the same time they need to be professional. Only when both things will come together, they should be able to serve customers. My friend who’s roots are in Pakistan told me that I must ordered the wrong thing, since he think that their food is amazing. We agreed to visit again together, and he will show me what to get. Promise to update…

This is like our go to place for every other weekend! Love their Chinese food! I have been to many different restaurants just for proper halal Chinese food even different states but this place is the best in NYC! Their noodles are the best with sesame chicken! Must try!

Too bad I can’t give a negative star because I would. First we sat for 20 min mind you it’s Tuesday evening and there was only one couple in the establishment besides us. Well, we sat then waiter came and asked what we wanted we told them our drink order waiter questions«only soda» with an annoyed tone. Well, 14 people so then we place food order and then one hour passes no sign of food or appetizer … We then get our appetizer and inhale it … No food and we notice the hostess going back into kitchen which was very weird and then we notice no one in kitchen … We then question to find out that the chef got injured and well… Magically we went to cancel our order the food came to the table ten mins later. Please don’t come here if you’re hungry and or on a time crunch.

The good: though I hate to say this, I think this might be the best Indo-Pak restaurant in the NYC/Jersey City area. The food here is the real deal if you’re Pakistani(or appreciate Pakistani cuisine, which is different from what is served in Indian restaurants in America). The mixed grill was solid — and the chicken tkka kebobs and fish tikka kebobs were amazing. Seekh kebabs are good here too. We also ordered bhindi gosht, which, if you’re Pakistani you’ll know, is the true measure of a cook. My gosht is still better, but theirs is also very good and is «home made» — ie, not the usual Indian set up of splashing sweet cream and tomato sauce on cooked meat and calling it «chicken tikka masala». Their desi-Chinese is good too. Lastly, their tawa rotis are almost like the ones your mom makes — which is amazing if you’re too lazy to even contemplate making rotis. I would give the food alone 4 or possibly 5 stars. The bad: they have, quite possibly, the worst service I’ve ever experienced. We literally wasted an hour waiting there: before we were seated(though the restaurant was empty), before they gave us menus, before they took our orders, before the food arrived and before they gave us our bill. They even forgot to include food that we had bought separately and that we waited thirty minutes for that was meant to take home. The waitress was, I think, a 12 year old white girl who didn’t know the names of anything on the(very Pakistani) menu. So the experience of ordering food from a cuisine that has things like«paya» was like a French farce. She’s perfectly nice but truly knows nothing about the food there. She kept calling our order of bread«naan» instead of «roti» — which is a completely different type of bread(naan is so doughy and unhealthy while roti is thin and whole wheat) — which forced me to have to double check three or four times that she was in fact bringing us roti. I could go on and on. Oh and the falooda sucked too, and their kheer is just ok. In summary: I will be going there again next weekend because the food is so good but I’m already dreading the service. Venture at your own risk.

We eat here a couple times a month. Markedly cheaper than our usual haunts on Courtelyou and everything is delicious — get the broccoli rabe for sure! Service is always super friendly too. It’s never very crowded. I get the impression they need more business, but they definitely deserve it too. Also $ 5 lunch boxes from 11am-4pm, better quality than street meat, same price!

Amazing find in a little known area in Coney Island. Must visit for quality, quantity, service and an unforgettable family-style meal. So not knowing the area very well(in fact, not even realizing there’s more to Coney Island than a Russian enclave, amusement park and beach), we decided to try out Chaaba. Upon seating, we were served a complimentary starter of Italian-dressed salad. For our main entrée, we took a chance with the more expensive item on the menu, the karahi($ 23), and decided on chicken. The chicken karahi arrived in a big bowl with its own heating candle which kept the meat hot and«fresh» all throughout our meal. We were thankful to have made the right choice because normally restaurants have everything premade the day before and/or microwaved. The chicken karahi is enough for 3 heads. Our other orders were pakoras, chicken kebabs, afghan rice, roghni and buttered naan. Everything was delicious; there was nothing that we did not like or did not finish. The pakoras in particular were some of the best we’ve had. The«seal of approval”/“proof of authenticity» was when we saw the chicken kebabs being skewered and grilled on site. Was sad I didn’t get to try their Kashmiri tea(if everything else was good, what else could be even greater?). Chabba definitely deserves all 5 stars in my opinion. I was surprised to learn they have been running for two years now. Please don’t replace the chef or servers. We will return with friends!

Hands down the most authentic punjabi food I have tasted in Greater NY city area. Being a native punjabi I always look for authenticity. Chicken karahi cooked freshly takes 35 min to cook but so worth the time.

The food was delicious and the waitstaff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend bringing a group here because there is a wide range of menu options and it seems like a large group would be able to sit comfortably.

We ordered chicken and goat karahi. Goat karahi had a smell. Chicken karahi was not properly cooked. Seek kabab taste horrible. Service was extremely slow. In short, I was disappointed with the food and service.

We ended up here after a glowing Google review(blasphemous, I know) but it was really delicious! The lamb tikka was quite tasty and moist, and the saag and aloo were fresh and flavorful. Everyone was lovely! Great neighborhood option.

This was recommended to me and at first didn’t know how it would turn out. The restaurant was large it had an upstairs as well as main level for dining many customers. We were greeted by the waitress and we sat in the middle some where. It took a bit tp get our food(so be patient). Then it came in a cart(their were 5 of us). The food was fresh and tender. Ir was as if we were their first coustomers. I took some pics. I travel alot so the food as compared by me was very well. To me better than anmol in chicago as well as clifton grill. They were good but this was better. Owner asked to remove pic of basement where people could pray.

Order a samosa chaat and you’ll get channa chaat. Order an appetizer meat platter and you’ll get your main course. At times appetizers will arrive rafter your dinner. Food is not bad WHENITARRIVES. It just takes forever to get what you ordered.

Breakdown: Food, eh. It’s typical Desi and Afghan cuisine. *Chinese menu was not being served* To start, the Afghan polao was watery, lacked flavor and very small serving. Most of the food was much too salty. I enjoy a good amount of sodium in my food, but this amount was unappetizing. Décor is gaudy and tasteless, but I guess A for effort. Now my biggest qualm with this place is their service. Came here on Mother’s Day during dinner time, not many people were there, just 3 – 4 mid-size families(including my family). Service was very slow. They took too much time bringing out the food. The appetizers were brought out with the entrees simultaneously and there was little to no space on the table to fit everything. Also, buyer beware, the bottled water they so lovingly bring to your table the second you sit, is not complimentary and failed to inform. I was under the impression they served bottled water considering the waitress did not ask about any other beverage options. When I asked for the check, the waitress said she’d bring it out, but just neglected and continued cleaning glasses. Waiting for the check took 20 minutes. Service itself was lacking, but staff was nice. Little advice for the owners: you need to hire more servers, one waitress is not enough! Also, décor, less is more. Your chef needs to taste the food before serving. Salty food should not be served. Disclose any hidden fees before serving. Good luck and I hope you improve.
