Found this place by accident and it’s a great addition to the area. The place is small but they do have an option for outdoor sitting when weather permits. The pizza was good, excellent dough. I wasn’t a fan of the red sauce, it was too sweet for my taste. I’d love to have the option of a red sauce made with San Marzano tomatoes. The white pizza was very good.

We popped in here for a post-christmas dinner with family in Silver Spring. Our host had checked it out on Unilocal and it passed the test(yet another bit of evidence solidifying Unilocal’s awesomeness!!!) It was so warm the Sunday after Christmas that we considered eating outside on the deck, but after the hysteria passed, cooler heads prevailed and we ate inside. The pies are GREAT. Many choices and sizes, so you won’t have an issue there. Decent selection of draft beer and red and white wine. Wasn’t too loud, so the six of us could hold a decent conversation w/out yelling at one another. Server was a funny man – he was very, very enthused about FP and everything it had to offer. My co-pilot and I were happy to have learned about FP and we’ll definitely stop back if we’re in the area. We like the neighborhood and ease to Beltway/I-270. Keep u the good work, FP.

I was so excited to try this place thinking I’d get really authentic Italian pizza, but it wasnt. Pizzas and sauce just weren’t that good, I’m sorry: /Others in my party liked it… mostly guys who ate pizzas full of meat. it’s more American pizza than authentic.

My new favorite place that’s very close to home! I normally don’t eat pizza, but eating here today changed my mind! The place was nice and cozy. We were seated next to the stone fire pit(so very warm which was nice since it was freezing outside). Our server Kevin was awesome! If you go there ask for him. You can tell he loves working there, he recommended all the right things. He made it sound so good, that we ordered everything he recommended. The pizza was nice and thin and crunchy. The toppings were the star of the show: the homemade sauce was not too tangy or sweet. The bacon was superb! Never have I tasted bacon that delicious. The caramelized onion was a nice contrast to the crunchy smoky bacon. Overall it was a great experience and we are definitely coming back!

Omfg mmmmmm that sauce! They claim simplicity in plum tomatoes, oil, and a little sugar but they’re hiding the secret ingredient — a little sprinkle of nirvana. Seriously good chew and char from the wood fire oven. The bacon really lights up the pizza Small but hoppin even on a Sunday night. The bar staff was super friendly and everyone — staff and patrons alike were having a good time.

I love this place and I have no idea why I don’t go more often. The atmosphere is neighborhood-like, if even a little crowded. The inside dining area is shared with a massive wood-burning stove. This place is no frills but definitely delivers on their product: delicious handmade pizzas that somehow belong in a category all their own. I ordered a clam pizza and worried, from the second I ordered it, that it would be topped with an embarrassing scatter of clams. Nope! There were plenty of clams(without making it overkill — yes, that can happen). The Captain had an arugula salad as a starter and even though it was literally JUST arugula, the dressing was lemony fresh and delicious. House made sodas are innovative and the price point is what you’d expect for craft made drinks. Not much in the dessert area but I hardly care. There are at least 3 different pizzas I want to try when I go back. That’s basically just a reminder to myself for later. Unless someone reads this and wants to buy me some pizza — then I’m on my way.

Okay, I ordered the Hot Mess because NAME! Called in the order quoted 35 minutes(whoa!) when we arrived — after driving looking for parking — the pie was ready to go. Once the chick at the register opened the box, I knew there was no way the pizza would make it home intact. Not ashamed to admit I pinched off a piece(s) in the Safeway parking lot. AH-MAZE-BALLS. Going to go back and try it again seated inside the restaurant like the(mostly) civilized woman that I am! RECAP: Pizza was perfect. Restaurant was packed. Parking is non-existent. Interaction with staff was great via the phone and in person.

The food is awesome. I love theyre deserts. It’s a little on the pricey side but worth it. If they have the cheese cake I recommend getting it. It’s definitely the best pizza in Rockville.

I will be back! The home made bacon and carmelized onions are outstanding! Don’t forget to get a homemade soda. The crust is greasy, but still chewy and crisp! Love watching the young chefs make these creations right before our eyes. And YUM for the huge scoop of real whipped cream

Any place that has a dish called the«hot mess» must be my kind of place! And yes it was! The homemade soda was delish! Not too sweet and not too fizzy. The hot mess was spicy, sweet, and savory. Bacon, onions, jalapeño. Yum! I didn’t have leftovers. I just wish the dough was a little less charred in places. I ended up leaving some pieces on my plate. Next time I need to try the dessert. The cake looks fabulous! My kids would not be a fan of this pizza, but that is a good reason to come without them. Which I plan to do again soon!

It’s really hard to find a good pizza place around here. This is a great local pizza joint with some flair. The pizza is delicious, fresh, and you can watch them cook it. We’ve been a few times with the kids and we all end up eating way too much! The times we’ve been we have ordered several pizzas to share. There are so many different choices, it’s hard not to please everyone in your party. It’s a smaller place, but has seasonal seating outside which is nice. Really nice staff which is a bonus! I recommend going if you want good, local, fresh pizza :) Mangia!

Stop what you’re doing. Go to Frankly’s and get the mushroom pizza and a glass of the NXNW red blend. This will be the best day of your life.

It’s the best Pizza place in Kensington. Everything on the menu is so delicious(yammy). All the drinks are home made and there is no SODA(Pepsi Cola). We love going there almost once a week. Keep it up guys. Thanks for serving.

Service is flawless, super friendly staff. Very attentive people. Patio is a gorgeous place to eat when the weather is nice. They had a good playlist on of jam bands and classic rock. Food is unbelievable! Everything is made in-house. They made a special vegan version of the pizza for my dad which he said was absolutely amazing. The hot mess is exceptional due to the pickled jalapeños and caramelized onions. I had ordered the jalapeños on the side for fear they were going to overwhelm the pizza with spicy and then regretted that i did. Takes it to a level. Its very gourmet style pizza, so know that going in. You wont find a lot of the traditional combos on the menu. Its one-size personal portion. Pizzas are about 12″ in size and between $ 12 – 18 for each They’re home made sodas are also very refreshing Will definitely be back

This place was great! Atmosphere: rustic and warm Customer service: the server was very nice and efficient. The place was packed so that was a treat! Food: Their mixed greens salad was phenomenal! However the portion was a bit small. My friend had the Spicy sausage and peppers pizza and loved it. My husband had the meatball pizza, I thought that meatballs were a bit greasy and didn’t care for the crumbly texture. The highlight and surprise was the arugula white sauce pizza(see pic). It was a refreshing slice of pizza! This pizza serves four individual slices… and this selection keeps you reaching back for more!!! Great place with yummy brick oven pizza!

New favorite pizza in Maryland. Why aren’t you closer to me??? Don’t worry, Frankly… Pizza, I intend to make the return trip no matter how much I hate sitting in traffic on 495 because I love your location, your staff, your homemade sodas and most importantly, your pizza! We sat out on the cute patio, ordered homemade Strawberry Rhubarb and Cream Sodas and eagerly awaited our pizzas. The topping varieties weren’t huge but enough that you still have plenty of options. And our waitress was very helpful in helping me decide which homemade soda to try! Try them, by the way, very tasty! We ended up with the margarita and pepperoni pizzas. The crust was just how I like it, a little think but still crunchy. And I loved the ample fresh basil leaves on the margarita. Well done!

A hidden Gem! My fiancé and I were in the neighborhood and decided to check this place out, So glad we did. We were promptly seated. We chose the outdoor patio. The menu is a little short of appetizers. I had the arugula salad and boy was it good. It was simple yet tasty. My fiancé had the pepperoni pizza and I had the plain margarita. The sauce was very tasty and the meat was very flavorful as well. For dessert we had the flourless Salted caramel brownie with whipped cream! They also have gluten free pizza but you have to order it a day in advance.

We were so, so happy to have this place open up in Kensington. It is one of the best dining options in town and we come here almost once a week. The pizza is amazing. I love the pepperoni, mushroom, and spinach. My husband is obsessed with the Hot Mess– but honestly every pizza we have tried has been great. Pizzas are personal sized, but we usually have almost half left over. Frankly also offers salads, local beer and wine on tap, as well as making their own sodas. I wish they had a few more options for appetizers(they only offer cold salads and olives at this point). The owners have always been around, seating people and running the oven, and are very personable. Most of the time our servers are good, although I do think we have had a few new people that are a little less attentive than would be ideal. Frankly Pizza is such a welcome addition to a neighborhood with such few dining options. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area!
