Gori Voice Studios

I started taking voice lessons with Grace Gori in February 2015 because I wanted to prepare to audition for choral groups by the Fall. I hadn’t taken lessons or been singing regularly for over ten years but Grace helped me tremendously. I took weekly lessons and now I sing with the National Philharmonic Chorale. Grace is an excellent instructor who helps vocalists strengthen and hone their voices AND she is extremely professional and personable. She has a holistic approach to teaching, which includes focusing on the physical aspect of singing (proper body alignment, breath, various muscle constructs/​support, etc.), all of which positively impacts a student’s ability to create sound. I have really benefited from her teaching approach by embracing and practicing her techniques and it has made all the difference. I highly recommend Grace and Gori Voice Studios.

Grace Gori is a marvelous vocal teacher who brings out the best in anyone, young or young at heart. Using all her training in current methods of total-​body singing, Grace gives her students, including myself, new self-​confidence as they master technique and style and conquer new music! Definitely a great teacher!

I am a semi-​experienced choral singer (baritone) having sung in junior and HS choirs and now, with the Nat’l Phil. Chorale or 4 seasons. Before I took lessons I had a lot of trouble getting much above a middle C.
I took 3.5 years of lessons from Aurelius (Rex) and would highly recommend him. In that time I learned lots about breath support, voice placement (ping, singing forward etc.), diction, audiation (verbalizing) and many other things. I never thought it possible but I am easily able to sing up a whole 4^th now, clearly and without straining. Rex is also a heckuva nice guy and the lessons were always very positive and fun. I have to say that when singing things like Bach Bm mass with lots of tricky passage above middle C I can totally handle it. Ditto for those screamy high F passages in Beethoven 9. With all the technique he gave me my voice never wears out even after 3 hour rehearsals. Every time I sing those types of passages I thank Rex!
Rex also has a tremendous repertoire so he can always find something to sing that suits your taste and skill level. I felt he always gave me appropriate repertoire such as Mozart operas (Don Giovanni and Marriage of Figaro come to mind). He was also a very good source information on solos to sing for church.
His wife is also a very good teacher and I always learned a lot from the workshops that they held to critique each other’s students.
If you are singer and want to improve I cannot recommend Gori Studios enough!

Gori Voice Studios is a phenominal vocal training program. Rex is easy to work with and a great vocal trainer. I recommend him highly.
