Sara Jaffe Designs

Sarah designed the three-​bathroom remodel in our country rancher built in 1960.
The need for her involvement throughout the project became evident as the project
developed. She adroitly integrated the new bathrooms into the existing house while
adding style and functionality in each detail. She is the consummate listener. The look and functionality of the result makes the house modern and built to last.
We relied on her involvement with the contractors during construction to insure that the
plan was adhered to. She was in our court. From start to finish, she was available to
consult, review, visit and revise. We learned so much! We expect to use Sarah’s
services again in the future and truly would not consider doing a project without her.

We worked with Sara on a major remodel of our 1935 English Tudor home in Oakland that involved integrating a dining room, enlarging the kitchen, remodeling a bath and building out a laundry room. Sara brought the perfect blend of architectural knowledge and design sense to our project.
The scope of the project included designing cabinetry, an artisan door with glass, design of a new dining table as well as space planning and execution of the entire project. We couldn’t have been more happy with the results.
What started off with a phone call, ended up being a wonderful friendship and the utmost respect for Sara and her talent. We would heartily recommend her (and have) to others.

Sara Jaffe designed and built two pieces of furniture for me, a bed and a coffee table, both of which have served me admirably with their function and aesthetics.
During the process, I valued Sara’s sure sense of taste and practicality. Her ability to complete the job with a personal commitment to my needs, as well as her sense of humor, made for a positive experience that left me entirely satisfied with her work.
Her versatility in the design field is clearly evident from her many projects as well as from creations she has furnished her home with. I highly recommend her.

My wife and I moved from our beloved home in the hills to a so-​called «retirement community.» That was a very difficult move. Sara designed the inside of our new little cottage, and though I don’t like living away from the Bay Area, our new home is so wonderfuly, so beautifully and practically designed, that it’s a pleasure every time to come back to. For us, it’s perfectly done – clean, airy, spacious-​seeming, practical, tasteful. For the community here, it’s become a sort of showcase.
Working with Sara was a delight – she’s both imaginative and realistic, as well as prompt. Her foresight and her practical solutions are a joy to partake in, and her drawings aspire to works of art in themselves.
