I loved the selection of 18th and 20th century furniture, lighting, an ironwork. They also have sculptures, paintings, and pottery. A good find!

I just happened to be on Howard Ave. and saw the neon signs advertising that this place was going out of business. I couldn’t resist popping in. Maybe now I could actually afford something from this high end French antiques shop. Their going out of business sale is now through the end of December. It wasn’t the economy’s doing; it was the owners not wanting to work 7 days a week anymore. Can you blame them? The sales are really great. Many things are already 50% off. The furniture selections they have are top quality imports from France. if only my condo were a tad bit bigger. Aside from the great stuff and friendly service of the owners they are giving away great business closing prizes including round-trip airfare to Paris, a 46″ HDTV, cases of French wine and restaurant gift certificates just to name a few. Visit the store soon for more details of how to earn prize dollars.

I have a few French and English antiques(mostly large pieces of furniture) — not the frilly frou frou sort that require 12 people to clean them, but the more simplistic styles with quality detail. For a long, long time I poured through website after website looking for antique Boules de Petanque de Lyonnaise(basically, they are really heavy French bocci balls that are made using hand forged nails with heads of varying shapes to form interesting patterns). I found a substantial collection of them here that were over 150 years old, and they were all trophy balls to boot(what a score!). I could only afford 5 of them, but until then I had not been able to find them ANYWHERE else. Here is a picture example of one that I own(minus the leather straps): and here is an example of one where the nails are missing(just so you understand better the construction of them:
Besides the boules, this 10,000 square foot store carries all sorts of beautiful antique French pieces. All of them are expensive, but unless you plan on traveling to France yourself, this is one of the few resources in the area.
