We are a small vet clinic that would have 2 small floor mats delivered once a week. We would be charged $ 50 per week– so over $ 200/mo(!!) for this service. When I realized after shopping around what a rip off that was(our current rug service company New Systems– who are wonderful– supplies us with 6 rugs per month for $ 50 total) I started looking elsewhere. Well, little did I know, they also have a mandatory 2 year contract that you cannot break without 90 days written notice sent to their corporate offices. So we had to wait about a year and a half to cancel our service. The delivery person must be paid on commissions because he was always VERY pushy with getting the contract signed before I caught on. Once we canceled it last year, we still had 3 months of service until the contract expired. Three months is a long time to remember the exact date of the service termination, but I had a general idea it was around Jan/Feb of this year. When I went to check on it, the delivery guy from Aramark had actually made two deliveries past the date of termination(that I was charged for and cannot get a refund for), and on the third visit when I caught this error, he got very angry and said that he suddenly discovered that he was missing two mats in his inventory count and then blamed us(like we’d hidden them somewhere) and when that didn’t turn out to be true, he blamed the new rug company(who hadn’t even been in for their first delivery yet) of stealing them. Then he hands me a bill for over $ 300 for the«lost» inventory(two mats! $ 300!?) They have regional and corporate offices– neither of which is easy to get a hold of anyone to assist you. I was told I had to get a letter from the new company stating they didn’t have the«missing» rugs in order to get a refund(which I did supply– thanks to our awesome new Rep at New Systems), and both our rep at New Systems and I got the run around or non-answered phone calls and emails. Once that letter was supplied I didn’t hear anything for a few weeks until I received an email from their accounting department threatening to send us to collections for the unpaid balance of the«missing» rugs and the deliveries they made past our termination date. All including late charges because they have stalled for over two months getting this handled. I finally received a statement with the refund for the missing inventory but they still charged me for the deliveries past our termination date. Unbelievable. Anyone in a small business looking for a rug or uniform service do not look to Aramark unless you want to get ripped off.
