Used Backcountry Outfitters’ hiker shuttle service for a recent hike on the Appalachian Trail. Cost just $ 25 for a one-way trip from Ten Mile station on the Metro North line to the outfitter in Kent. Outfitter staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were able to charge our cell phone, buy alcohol fuel($.30/ounce), and top off our water bottles before setting off. The outfitter accepts mail drops for hikers and also sells canister and white gas fuel. As Backcountry Outfitters is about ½-mile off the A.T., recommend passing hikers stop in. Annie Bannanie ice cream is also co-located. We tried the Almond Joy ice cream. Amazing!
