Bear Arms

I usually go to west coast in Factoria but since moving, this shop is right by our house. My boyfriend had some questions and decided to stop in. He came home and said that it was a husband and wife running the place and they were the most nicest, respectful, honest and helpful people he’s ever encountered. I know he’ll be going back to purchase here and I sure am excited to go in also!

Today I came here with a friend for a FFL and it was a really decent experience. So this review will pertain to the FFL transfer rather than gun purchase.
Service: The couple who works here are really kind and helped us through the FFL process with a lot of care and understanding. I’ve transferred guns before and this is by far the best service I had.
Price: FFL was $ 25 which is the cheapest you’ll probably find in the area.
Overall: This place is a ⁵⁄₅ in terms of FFL transfer. I would honestly drive 15 miles to do an FFL here because of how smooth it went.

I’m not the big gun person — my boyfriend is. Not that I’m against them, I’m just like… Okay… LOL anyways this place is pretty solid! The owners are an older couple, and they’re really nice. They aren’t super talkative, but they try and make conversation and try and crack jokes to get ya to laugh. The place was really clean and very organized. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars though was because it seemed like they didn’t have much product. It’s a small place though, so you can’t blame them. I know my boyfriend goes here time and again for all his gun needs, so it seems they’re doing something right.

So I’ve purchased multiple items here since I was 21. So a decade of experiences before posting review. I really like & respect the whole, «your purchase supports a family put food on the table, a little girl get music lessons, etc.».
BUT, as a business, you need to treat the people whom support you so you can do those things with a drastically greater amount of service.
When you call this place on the phone, there is no message option. Its either they answer the phone or you listen to a message and it hangs up. People are calling because they want to support your trips, kids lessons, etc.
Multiple times I have stood at the counter and just waited for minutes, sometimes a very uncomfortable amount of time before ANYONE greeted me. One guy is in a sent through office. One guy in a cubicle to the right. One woman working on something. Not a single person in there but me… Standing there. With a GUN case… Waiting… To try and give you money to support your family go on trips, pay for lessons, etc.
A lot of people are not comfortable with firearms. They are looking for someone they can trust and rely on to help them understand what they are buying and that it is the best choice. If they already know what they want, they would go online and get it from armslist or something.
My Point: stop being like all the other gun stores that hire people that don’t know how to take care of people. Start giving a shit about the people and try actually helping someone learn something or have an experience.

I had a very pleasant buying experience here. Doesn’t make sense to stock all sorts of firearms if everyone has different tastes, that would be tons of overhead. Purchased a gun with no complications or concerns whatsoever. If you don’t know what you want in a firearm, goto a range and rent a few. Once you know what you want, you can have it ordered… unless you have a ccw, you have to wait anyway…
I dont recall seeing teddy bears, just nice folks.

Since I live close to this gun store, thought I would check it out one day. I was met by one of the rudest sales people I have ever encountered. I believe it was the wife of the owner, but not sure. I asked if they have any hand guns available since I didn’t see any in the store. She replied «WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR» in this stern/​rude voice. I replied «just browsing, thanks». Oh my gosh! I looked around the store for a little while longer and she was staring at me and then began to follow me. Very creepy! Part of the store is silly teddy bear collections. They had no inventory, ammo, nothing! Place is a total joke guys, don’t even bother!

This place was terrible. Had no stock on any firearms or ammo. I won’t be going back nor will I recommend this place. The guy wasn’t even helpful, just stared at me the whole time.

I am new to the area and this place seemed relatively close. The gentleman seemed to be the owner or one of the owners. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and maybe a little to open on where else to shop. His recommendations based on what I said were great because I could tell he wanted me to be satisfied. He steered me away from a more expensive shotgun to one that could be used in both hunting and home protection. Those are the things I like, when a guy is more interested than selling just an expensive firearm. Unfortunately, the selection was pretty small but they had some nice arms that I would love to own. I will be back after I get my Washington ID.

First off, let me say that I believe in the protection of the second amendment, and believe that the right to bear arms (while unfortunately a losing battle when looked at as its original intention) should be upheld.
However…
IN MY OPINION… I do not think it in the best taste to have a teddy bear collectible shop and a gun shop operating in the? complimentary? fashion that these two businesses are. I entered thinking that it was a build-​a-​bear workshop type of establishment, and was utterly shocked.
Yes, it’s a great amount of inventory, and if you’re looking for guns, guns, and more guns, this is a good place to go.
However, if you’re looking for stuffed bears, I would suggest taking the kids to a different establishment or going without them.
Note: I would have posted this on the Once Upon A Bear Unilocal page, but there is only this one, and as they are operating as one business umbrella, it is fitting.

I’ve lived near this shop ever since it opened. Wasn’t really into guns so much back in the day. But now I am quite interested in owning one for protection as well as shooting practice at the range with friends. I’m glad I decided to come in and check these guys out. They have very competitive prices on their merchandise. I literally shopped around on the internet and calling shops and they beat the others buy a decent margin. They also have an certified in-​house Glocksmith.
It’s definitely a family run business. I was treated with politeness and all of my questions were answered. These guys really know their stuff. Background check was completed very fast with a cwp. They can do drop transfers also, & they have an online catalog to shop what is available.
They also sell teddy-​bears and model train sets and equipment which is a neat business combination style imho. I mean why not?
My advice is if you want something, check out their website and then call for the next delivery on it. They update their website every 15 minutes the guy told me. I look forward to shopping here again. :-)
