Bridget Ferguson, DVM, ABVP Certified in Avian Practice

She very compassionate, and the staff is great too. I really appreciate that the doctor loves animals, and isn’t about the business or bottom-​line.
I can’t speak for mammals, but she took great care of my bird. I believe she has extensive knowledge on animals if she knows birds. I recommend her, and I drive 50 min. to see her.

Here’s why I like her:
TL;DR — Cat weight dropping. Took cat to the VCA. Cat was diagnosed with a liver infection and put on antibiotics by (a different) vet. Cat’s condition continued to deteriorate. I took cat to a completely new vet: Sawyer Lake. Dr. Ferguson was surprised VCA was unable to pull a diabetes diagnosis from VCA’s own blood panel. Cat put on insulin. Turn-​around has been miraculous. All thanks to Dr. Ferguson of Sawyer Lake.
Next, Ferguson took on the other cat in the house who’d been peeing. VCA never had a clue how to help. Ferguson said, «Put her on this low magnesium food.» Within a week, peeing stopped.
Argh. Good vet care seems so hard to come across. Ferguson, in my book, is the real deal.

Anybody know where Dr. Ferguson is practicing now? She is no longer a Sawyer Lake Vet. We really like her and miss her!

Most wonderful clinic! The vet Bridget was extremely knowledgable and thorough with my conure Wesley. He was very comfortable with her and her presence. Bridget showed true affection for my conure I could tell she loves what she does and strives to be her best. The man technician who clipped my Wesley’s wings, claws and filed beak was gentle and patient but very quick and detail oriented to get the best results. Will be going to Bridget from now on and will look forward to trusting this clinic with bird sitting while vacationing in the future. Thank you!

I am at a complete loss for words. Dr. Ferguson was a vet here in the San Francisco Bay Area. I looked hard and long for her after my Cockatoo developed lead poisoning (from his cage) and began to self mutilate himeself. He was mis treated by another vet, who I did not trust. My bird had been treated terribly there. I took him to Dr. Ferguson. She did more in one hour than the other vet did in three weeks. She immediately bathed him and ran several tests on him. He looked so much better when I returned to pick him up one hour later. You could see it in his demeaner and his little eyes. Dr. Ferguson is extremely compassionate. She is a highly and I mean highly competent vet. I noticed today after cleaning my bird’s cage that he has started to pick at himself. I only realized tonight after looking on the internet that Dr. Ferguson is no longer in the San Francisco Bay Area. I really just want to cry. Please tell me it isn’t so. A good bird vet is very hard to come by. Now I am up a creek with no paddle.

This is part of an email I sent to this office on 2/​11, as of 3/​06, I am getting no help from my BBB complaint and am pursuing small claim’s against this vet.
«…you have treated my Sun Conure, Stuey. I recently had his information transferred over to Dr. Brent Johnson at NW Animal Care Hospital. Upon my last visit at your office, I was told that Stuey had no bacteria, was healthy and to give him BeneBac. He was still sneezing and no reason was given other than possibly the baths he takes. I had explained he would sneeze before baths or even various times on days he had had no bath.
After my multiple visits to your office, he is still sneezing and I recently noticed discharge from his nose area. This is why I transferred his medical records to the other vet. I figured that after three or more visits, I needed a second opinion. I have paid over $ 120 for more tests and another culture. The doctor has called me back and said Stuey indeed has an infection and is putting him on a three week antibiotic regimen.
I really don’t even know what to ask for. My money back for the failed treatment of my bird or the money to continue treat a bird that you failed to make well, which may now cost more than it could have a month or two ago? Either way, I would very much like to be contacted back by the owner or managing entity of your office for a proposed and amicable resolution.
