Do Rite Auto Repair

Everything was terrible. I brought our only vehicle in on Monday as agreed upon, but they didn’t do the work until Thursday! That was very frustrating, but there’s more. The catalytic converter they replaced sounded worse than before we brought it in. Turns out the welding job sucked and they had to weld it some more. To make matters worse, the creaking in the front right wheel is still there so the $ 400 ball joint we paid for was not even the cause. And they charged us $ 50 to check the transmission; I thought a professional mechanic could just drive it around the block. Nickle and dimed us, poor welding/​muffler experience, and pure guesswork at what the wheel issue could be.

My wife complained that her vehicle was «stuttering’. Well, it never did it for me when I was driving. I don’t seem to have great luck with mechanics so tried a new shop.
They were very busy and looked like they had a bunch of mechanics. They also could not get the vehicle to ‘stutter’ but they did find sone issues that could be the problem.
Price was what I expected. Not super cheap nor terribly expensive.
So far so good!

Do Rite is a fabulous mechanic! I will come back here if my car has any issues and will refer everyone I know to them.
My friend got some work done on her Lexus and referred me to Do Rite when I got an alert from the dummy light that something was wrong. I called them to review the code from the diagnostic I got done at Auto Zone, and I spoke with Dave Nelson, the owner. He was super friendly and personable. He set an appointment with me for a few days out when they would have time to look at my car.
I came in today for my appointment, and Dave helped me out again. He told me he would call me later today with the estimate and said that due to what the code said, my car would be done tomorrow at the latest. He then offered to give me a ride to work — who does that?! Since my office is on the eastside, I declined, and said I was getting a rental car. He then offered to drive me to the car rental agency. It was just down the street but still, this was really kind and above and beyond any expectations or services from a mechanic.
Dave called me a couple hours later and explained what they found the exact issue to be and the cost. After I agreed, he told me my car would be done today and he’d call me when it was ready. He then called me about 90 minutes later and said my car was done.
When I went to pick up my car, Dave cashed me out and offered some advice regarding maintenance on my car that I wasn’t aware of before.
They totally could have taken advantage of my ignorance and instead were honest and forthright.
Bring your vehicle in here. They’ve been in business over 20 years and do all mechanical work on vehicles except auto body work.

My 03′ Monte Carlo started having a really hard time accelerating and going up hills. After I had just replaced my fuel pump I figured that wouldn’t have been the issue, leading me to believe my catalytic converter was clogged. I then called up Do Rite Auto Repair and brought my car down early in the morning the next day before the opened. I received a call shortly after they opened from the guys at the shop just wanting to keep me updated on: how they would test to see if the catalytic converter needed to be replaced, what they found after the test, and approx. how much it would cost to perform the work. They were able to get everything done in the afternoon before I got off from work and the total they charged me was even less than what they originally quoted! Everyone at the shop was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, I will definitely bring my car down to them whenever I need work done. I highly recommend them to anyone especially if your like me and have a hard time trusting some shops.

The mechanics are great and really know what they are doing. The one with the big beard was answering questions left and right and willing to show us exactly what he was talking about. Costs were reasonable and well explained & the service was pretty fast.
Took away 1 star cause the owner was kinda rude and really needs a shower.

I am not a review writer. I read them but I rarely write them. But when You get service so good it sticks in your mind weeks later I feel it’s the least I can do.
These guys were top notch.
They were friendly, honest, helpful and had excellent free coffee in the waiting room.
They had a perfect opportunity to lie and upsell me and because of my situation I would have gone for it. But instead they took the high road, told me the truth, quoted me a more then fair price and then stayed past their shift to fix my car.
They are true to their name.
Pay them a visit you won’t regret it.

The service there was great. Got my car there and did an exhaust. Finished in less time then they estimated. Also got a great price on it than most shops.

Once again, Dave is upfront, honest and just a great place to take your car! We even take our smaller business trucks here. I like the idea of… here is what is going to need your attention soon… tell me what it will take/​cost and let me decide. REALLY, REALLY appreciate an honest auto repair place.

A few other mechanics basically refused to fix my exhaust problem (head pipe rattling on the frame making tons of noise, plus a gasket replacement), but these guys gave it a quick look over and explained how they’d fix it and a very low estimate for the cost… and the actual charge was $ 6 cheaper! The owner and mechanic were both incredibly sociable — both spent about 20 minutes of very engaging conversation with me

I went here on ⁰⁷⁄₁₆ to get my dual mufflers on my mazda. I informed Guy that I’m really short in time and I work 7 days a week. I asked him if he can get it done and he told me he will get right to it. He got the muffler job done within 2 hours and I was able to get to work on time. I think the price I paid was fair for the job and Guy and his crew are honest and nice guys. It’s a family oriented place and I saw the customer’s that came in and I can tell they were repeat customers. I highly recommend this place. Forget the big name places. I will be coming back here for other jobs required on my car. My car sounds awesome!

I am so happy with the work I got done on my car (brakes and wheelbearings). The cost was reasonable and they took the time to explain what was needed and why. This will the only place I will go from now on.

It is SO refreshing to meet people in businesses who are truly in it for the customers. I just had my catalytic converter replaced by Do Rite Auto Repair in Kent, and could not be happier. I went to two other places for estimates, and they wanted to charge me… I kid you not…1,000 $ more. The man I worked with said «How do those companies stay in business?» Beats me! Great price, very helpful workers, and efficient! HAD to pass this info on for anyone in need of car repairs. So useful.

I was hoping that I made the right choice with Do Rite Muffler. As it turns out, I did! With no reviews on Unilocal I was a little worried; they have been in Kent for 20 years, and they have no reviews? I called about having a muffler installed on my F-​150. The guy on the phone said even though someone called in sick, they could still do it today if it was there by 3. It was 1 oclock– I pull in, they put my truck on the rack, torch the old muffler off, weld the new one on, done in 30 minutes!

It cost me $ 150, not sure how that compares with other shops. (no tail pipe, just a muffler – looks like a $ 50 Napa special)
I always went to Certified Brake and Muffler Next to Lake Meridian until they went out of business a few years back. Do Rite will now be my local muffler shop! Support the little guy!
