Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kent State University

Had a very pleasant stay. Very clean and the employees were friendly!

I had to spend a few days conducting seminars in Akron, OH, and I chose this hotel based on positive online reviews. WOW! I couldn’t have found a better home away from home. The hotel is clean and seems newer, and all of the employees were so friendly and helpful — some even greeted me by name after I was there for a few days. Interstate access is so easy, the parking lot is well lit, and the rooms are very welcoming. Wifi worked fine and the free breakfast is a nice touch. I will definitely stay here again.

A very pleasant stay last week.
The room was quite comfortable, furnishings not looking too bad, and everything very clean.
The shower had great water pressure and did not take long to get good and hot.
The breakfast was reliable and fresh.
I was very pleased with my stay, and hope I’m placed here for my next trip to town.

I’ve stayed in nicer hotels in larger cities for the same amount of money I paid per night here. However, the room was comfortable. The cable lineup was extensive (including BBC America!), but the wifi was sluggish. The breakfast was good, but my cinnamon roll was pretty dried out. Overall, decent stay, but not worth $ 120/​night. Next time I have to come to Kent, I will probably check hotels in Akron for a better deal.

Entire staff was very accomodating! Talk to Shirley and tell her that Steve said to ask for her. She is an amaxing woman. I miss the conversations we had while I was reading my Bible in the Breakfast area. She is a geniune lady that will always hold a place near and dear to my heart. She made me feel at home and welcome always.

Trip Advisor reviews were very strong for this hotel and it did not disappoint. Appears to be the newest hotel of those that you see as you pull off I-​76. We got in past midnight and were greeted by a friendly person running the front desk. Got to our room, which was clean and updated. Generous and very clean bathroom. In the morning we ate at the breakfast buffet (included) before heading out. This was my first Holiday Inn Express (usually stay at Marriott properties) and I was quite impressed. Based on this property, I would argue these are nicer than a Marriott Residence Inn. Free Wi-​Fi is a plus too.

I’ve had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Kent, OH for the last three months. Reggie the General Manager runs a clean and efficient hotel. His staff is excellent! From the front desk staff to housekeeping to maintenance, everyone is warm and friendly. They are all very good at what they do. The rooms have been upgraded with comfy mattresses and bedding. They even have soft and firm pillows depending on your tastes. Most rooms I’ve stayed in have whirlpool tubs that are immaculately maintained. Housekeeping does a great job. In fact, they call maintenance to fix problems without me saying anything. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend staying at the Holiday Inn Express at Kent.
