Dan is wonderful! After getting a quote for over $ 1600 from Les Schwab for repairs, I took my VW Golf to Dan for a second opinion. He could tell right away I didn’t need half of the repairs quoted and got me in and out the next day! Dan will be my go-​to for any future auto repair! Thanks Dan!

I found Import Auto Repair using Unilocal.Many high ratings aided my search. I called and got an estimate on getting my WRX repaired. Dan’s knowledge and estimate made taking my car to him an obvious choice. I could have gotten «soaked» for repairs I didn’t need, but Dan called me and told me what was actually in need of repair as well as advice for what else did need to be done. Hopefully it’ll be a long time, but my car’s next repair will be here.

Dan is wonderful. I took my car in today to get the brakes done. I was certain that I needed to have them replaced, because they felt funny (and it has been a while since I’ve replaced them). I called a few weeks ago to get an estimate for the replacement. Upon looking at the car, Dan let me know that my brakes were fine. The issue was that I had air in the brake line. He removed the air and confirmed that my brakes (front and back) were just fine — essentially saving me about $ 230. He could have easily just changed my breaks and charged me what I expected to pay.
This is the second time I have taken my car to Import Auto Repair, and the second time I have left a very happy customer. Thank you, Dan!

Dan is the man! FINALLY got my car fixed — and what I mean by «finally» is that I previously went to two auto repair shops prior to going here; and in sum, third time is a charm! The other two shops didn’t diagnose my car problem very well which left my car in the verge to an engine catastrophe. Lucky I found Import Auto Repair nearby and decided to give it a try, and voila! My car is back and running like it’s supposed to!
I had this mysterious sound coming from the interior of my ’09 Corolla but two of the shops that I went to prior to this shop didn’t have a clue of what was making that noise. Both shops say that it could be harmless and that I should just get an oil and air filter change from them in hopes for the sound to go away. Yeah I got the oil change and yeah I changed the air filter, but why is that sound still there? The sound got worse after a week and my little Corolla is starting to sound like a 500 ton semi truck! I was tempted to go to a dealership to get it properly diagnosed, but wanted to give one more repair shop a leap of faith.
When Dan checked my car, in 2 minutes he was able to properly diagnose the issue. And as soon as I got my car back, my car sounded bran spankin new! He says that if I didn’t get it fixed soon, it would cause detrimental damage to my engine; so I’m glad that I didn’t listen to those previous repair shops that didn’t know what they were talking about. Moreover, in terms of price from this service, it was a fraction of the price compared to any other auto repair shop if I were to get the same service done! Overall, I’m happy with the service and also happy that I can safely drive with a quiet car. Only mystery there is now is figuring out how this place is so awesome!

I’ve done business here twice with our 1994 Toyota 4×4 Pickup. A friend at work referred me to Dan. Great price for great work– our truck is running awesome for it’s age now at a good price. We’ve had the truck for 15 years and I can’t remember the last time it had so much power. I referred Dan to a friend who has trouble with his 1995 4 Runner. Not sure if Dan specializes in old Toyota 4x4s, but he’s worth a call if you have one.

The best place that I have found to work on my Land Rover. The communication was excellent and I was informed about the issues and possible solutions along the way and with reasonable prices. The Rover is running the best ever!

I can’t give it more than 3 stars AT THIS TIME because my car wasn’t repaired there. Although, I will rate my experience based on my dealings with the gentlemen in the shop and over the phone. They are very pleasant, informative and courteous. It was almost as if an uncle or someone was explaining things to me regarding my car. Unfortunately (but fortunately for my budget), I was encouraged by family to get additional quotes elsewhere, but I would surely consider doing business with Import Auto Repair in the future because their customer service was good and as a woman I didn’t feel intimidated there.

I am in love with this place, Dan is so helpful and called me everyday my car was there giving me progress reports. He was very quick and knowledgeable, which I appreciate considering the luck I’ve had with other mechanics. If I could give this place more then 5 stars I would… Thanks Dan!

Dan is as good as they get.
Was able to service same day and while I waited because it failed emissions. What was special is that Dan knew my car so well that he knew it was likely the tubing leading to the EGR valve and not the valve itself. He was correct and my bill reflected that. Any other shop likely would have charged part and labor for valve in addition to cleaning the tubing — if they even knew to do that. Known Dan and his skills for 30 years, since he was a Fiat specialist. He is a student of the business and thrives fixing cars. Love the guys.

Dan took the car right away and predicted the problem right away. Also he ensured he did a quick check on other essentials and advised (but not forced) to change them.
I would recommend him.

They took my car in right away. I expected at least a full day of work to fix my radiator problem, but i got a call back within just a few hours saying my car is done. So i came right in to pick it up and the new radiator looks and works great.
The price was exactly what they estimated beforehand and they didn’t charge me when they filled my car with coolant.
Dan, the owner seems to be an honest and approachable guy. There are a lot of shady repair shops all around Kent. This place is kind of an oasis, where you can be confident in the quality and price of the work.

I recently took my M3 BMW into this shop for work and was not disappointed. The work done was first class and Dan only replaced items he thought were necessary and actually showed me all the old parts he had taken and what was wrong with them! Dan and Lisa treat you like family and I appreciate the great friendly service they provided. Overall this a great auto repair shop that is customer friendly, very reasonable in price and has quick repair times to get you back out on the road. I would highly recommend them to anybody!

Dan is a straightforward no nonsense kind of guy. I brought my Land Rover in for a check engine light & oil change, and he was able to get the work done quite timely. Communication back & forth was great, he set and met time lines and expectations — and had no problem with me following up with him weeks later.
This is my go to shop in South Seattle for my Land Rover repairs.

I’ve been taking my 99 Honda here for over 4 years, and this is one of the best repair shops I’ve been to — they go above and beyond. Honest shop, outstanding customer service, attention to detail and affordable pricing. They always take the time to explain to me what is going on with my car.

Took my 4runner in back in june due to a coolant loss that had to get fixed asap because I was getting transfered for work. Very quickly they were able to diagnose it as the headgasket, and not only give a quote for time and cost, but then proceded to give me recommendations on what they thought the best course of action was (in this case they went as far as to recommended not fixing it because of the cost of the repair vs the value of the vehicle) They wouldnt even make any money doing that! but they wanted me to make an educated decision.
Due to time constraints I wasnt able to have them fix it at the time, and ended up doing it myself later, but their diagnosis was SPOT ON. I would not hesitate to take anything back there in the future and will send all friends there from here on out!

Been going here for years. They won’t replace or fix things «just because» only if it’s necessary and important. No unexpected bill.
I always get a call with the diagnose, and itemized details of what will be done.
Super friendly and helpful.
My current car has 190k miles and is running like a champ thanks to these guys.
