I’ve stayed at quite a few B&Bs, so I wanted to stay in a really special one with husband for our first anniversary. This one is by far the best I’ve ever been to. The innkeeper and staff are friendly and attentive to your needs. We stayed in the Gables suite in the attic and were very comfortable. The common areas and the pool are all beautifully maintained and the décor is incredible. The Inn was built in 1741 and you feel like you’re in a different century without having to compromise modern luxuries like WiFi and air conditioning. Some of the other reviewers said the rooms were small. I can only speak to the suite we were in which was more than enough room for the two of us. It had two different sitting areas, an office area, and a huge bathroom with a walk in closet and 6ft shower. Some of the other reviewers also said the breakfast was lacking. We weren’t served any meat or eggs like the other reviewer said, but we had banana pancakes, a coffee cake and we had the option of cereal and granola with yogurt. We both thought it was quite substantial. We had a wonderful stay here and we hope to come back in the future. The town is adorable and it was a very relaxing weekend.

A beautiful place for a weekend. My mother and I stayed at the Inn on a visit to charming Kent. Ira was a wonderful host and made us comfortable — with dinner and candles even! — when the house lost power in a major snowstorm. The other guests were amazing and helped us dig our car out so we could make our flight out on Sunday. I highly recommend Kent, the Inn and Ira for a quiet weekend in Connecticut.

The Inn is lovely – charming, historic, and in a beautiful area. The innkeeper was very kind and welcoming as well. That said, we should have read the reviews on Unilocal before we booked. First, the«standard» room was way too small. You can open and close the bathroom door with your foot while lying in bed. Yes, it’s that small. My college single dorm room was bigger. I’ll move on before I start channeling Rodney Dangerfield(How small was it?). Second, the road noise from Route 7 outside was shockingly loud. It woke us up at 6:00AM. Third, the breakfast was nice but nothing special. I don’t mean to discourage others from trying the Inn. It is quite charming and the setting is lovely. I just wish I had known about the three items mentioned above before I booked. Get the biggest room you can, and make sure that it’s on the side of the house facing the backyard to avoid road noise. Kent is really charming with wonderful roads to explore, hikes, the falls, and a quaint town center. Not to be missed.

My husband and I have stayed at this Inn on various occasions and were very happy every time. It is on the national historic registry: a gorgeous home run by Ira, who is very helpful and friendly. The interior is tasteful and comfortable. There’s a considerable price-range depending on which room you book. The Falls Suite is really nice, expensive and worth the money, if you take advantage of the large space. The Bridge Room is also very nice, less expensive and much smaller. All in all, I would say that Kent is worth a visit and that staying at this Inn will make your trip all the more memorable, especially if you like to be surrounded by beautiful things.
