Kent Commons

Thank you Kent Commons for saving the day! When my dance program was cancelled, we needed rehearsal space. I called and was able to talk to the right person immediately to determine if their space was adequate and available. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful!
When I visited the facility, everything was ready to go and I was able to book 3 weeks of space on the spot. We’ve used the east gym and green river (aerobics) room and both are always clean and air-​conditioned.
The restrooms and lobby area could use some updating, but it’s nice to see that the rest of the facility is clean and well kept.
I look forward to trying out some of their other offerings (i.e. dance classes) this summer.

I don’t live in Kent, so I don’t take advantage of all the Kent Commons offers, but what I do use it for — I love this place!
Run by the city Parks & Rec department, the Commons offers an array of sport classes, kids activities and enrichment classes for a very cheap price (which is probably a Kent Resident perk). They also rent out their spaces, which is what I use it for with work. They have all different sizes of rooms that are reasonably priced (way better prices than renting a banquet room at a hotel). They always seem to have a pretty flexible schedule, too.
The ladies at the desk are very sweet and accommodating.
The commons opens up pretty early, and from peeking in open doors I’ve seen all sorts of classes from Zumba to cooking classes going on.
