It is good for your throat Munchi’s is the only place in the greater Seattle area that I’ve been able to find passable Wa Mui — the chinese salted plums. I like them fresh and chewy — but you can also get them dry as dust. Either is acceptable if they are done right. The strange thing is the Wa Mui at Munchi’s is pretty good and it’s really cheap — about $ 6 a pound. I’ve paid much much more, up to about $ 30 a pound at one point for some particularly good stuff in Vancouver. Munchi’s has my Wa Mui, but it also has great salted lemon and candied ginger. The candied ginger is incredible! Also here you will find, in the very clean, hyper-lit environment, a passable selection of Japanese candies. Munchi’s is just universally cool. If you miss things like Wa Mui, you can get your fix. If you have no idea what any of this stuff is, it’s like a food theme park. The first time I was exposed to this kind of stuff, I was in there for hours eating everything I didn’t recognize. So, turn off CSI, get in the car, go to Munchi’s and LIVEBABYLIVE!!!
